Awesome to hear. I think service has gotten much better overall in the last year.Final result!
Got my truck back exactly 1 week after it went to the service center.
They did replace the rear drive inverter with a new one. They also did the following:
1. Replaced the 12 volt batteries. Mine has 2.
2. Cleaned the charger pins and installed new seals.
3. Replaced auxiliary air compressor control panel.
4. Evacuated refrigerant and recharged due to overfill.
5. Added cable ties to the cowl harness.
6. Tightened hub to knuckle fasteners.
7. Did courtesy inspection.
Total cost = $0.
Work was done at the Groveport Ohio SC. They were great. Kept me informed and got the job done exactly when they said they would. I couldn't be happier.
Pretty good! It will vary for everyone of course, based on climate and towing/not towing as my guesses for cause of biggest variance. My lifetime average is only 85% of EPA in AP (2.97 vs 3.5 km/kWh). That includes a fair amount of winter driving (and kids sitting in the truck "idling"), and 5,500 km of towing (10% of total mileage).Glad you got your issues sorted. Looks like they fully went through things.
I just looked and my lifetime average on the max pack is 340 miles of actual range down from a rated 380 with my tires. That includes city, highway, towing and off-road. That's almost within 10% of EPA.
I think they told me the same thing the first time I got the error, but after it recurred the next day, they escalated and came and picked up my truck. Ended up replacing the front drive unit. Hopefully yours isn't that bad.I had Motor and Drive failure similar to you all last week. The truck sat at the airport for 4 days in 20 deg F temps.
To be clear I go to the airport ALOT and in just about every temp condition and I believe I was the first to discover the seat sensor issue that ended up with a recall and consequently that if you have your passenger seatbelt buckled your truck will drain in a dramatic fashion.
Truck was not plugged in but had +70%
Threw these errors and limited to 42 MPH about 7 minutes after leaving my parking spot, while I was on the freeway. I got off and limped home.
Service had me do a reset and no problems since but I am strongly concerned....
Rivian has an open ticket but is not recommending bringing it in. I dont like this, at a minimum I would like a follow up with an analysis of my logs...
A glitch just isnt satisfying. Could it be a frozen sensor? Perhaps. Could be a lot of things but this is the first time I have started considering another brand. Its not like I havent had other major issues but I could understand why they happened.

So far it has not resurfaced. Driven about 200 miles since then BUT my Garage is heated. I guess I could park outside and try to replicate with a deep freezeI think they told me the same thing the first time I got the error, but after it recurred the next day, they escalated and came and picked up my truck. Replicating it is probably not related the outside cold temperature and probably more related to whether the car goes to sleep. Let it sit unplugged, gear guard off, do not load your phone app, etc etc for at least 1 hour. Maybe you already did this, but I say this because sometimes these type of alarms can be "avoided" by the vehicle never going into the deep sleep. So far it has not resurfaced. So in your cas was it intermittent failure, or once it finally condensed and settled on the inverter, that was it, the main board was toast? For mine it was temperature/humidity related - the failed seal allowed moisture into the inverter, which seems to have occasionally condensed onto something important on the inverter controller. Lower temp = more likelihood condensation.
