We were max pack preorder holders until about a month ago. We were granted access to the shop and decided we did not want to wait until late 2024 for max pack. Our concern was range in the cold in MN. So far it takes about half again the number of miles to get somewhere so a 100-mile trip will take approximately 150 miles of range to put it simply. Of course, this is going to vary considerably based on temp and wind. There are many other posters that have analyzed the range.
Congrats on the shop invite. I was a max pack holder until the October delivery update and switched to the large pack. Still hoping for a shop invite or closer delivery estimate.

What was your original pre-order date?

I got my first 'hey take one sooner' and right now there are 5 on there in configs I'm not interested in (missing off-road stuff)

So I must admit, I'm becoming less and less enamored withe the R1T. The kitchen/tent was the main reason it had spousal approval factor but now it's fading fast, and combined with the charging reports coming out of the 135 battery pack, the larger battery pack could be a 1 Hr to 1.5 Hr charge from 10/15% - 80%.

The fact that no details have been forthcoming on it at all either wonders if this will be the next 'hey we deleted this from your configuration' email that I get.

Trying to stay pumped for it, but it's not working for me anymore.

The kitchen and tent are just overpriced add-ones typical of any manufacturer. You can add a tent for half the price and have a similar induction cooktop kitchen setup for 25% of the cost.

I have also had two invites and was very tempted with the most recent one as they had several trucks that matched my build minus the max battery. As much as i would love to go ahead and get it and was quite disappointed with the most recent delivery update (Jan-Dec 2024), i want the longer range. if Rivian ends up cancelling the max battery, i also have a reservation for the silverado which is showing a potentially earlier delivery than the R1T at this point.
I'm a 4/19 max pack order holder and I also got an invite. I didn't open it as I wasn't sure what the implications were.

I'm torn between switching to a large pack to see if the small range and small bed will handle all my needs versus waiting until 2024 when it is out and then comparing it to the Silverado and Cybertruck that I also have orders on. Since I don't have much of a down payment saved up yet and I'm not sure what the resale market for Large packs will be like once longer range trucks are available, I'll probably just wait.

You can open and browse, it's just in your Rivian account. I'm holding strong to my max pack. Glad I have the Lightning coming in otherwise I don't think I'd be able to resist a couple I've seen pop up. There's a limestone with oc interior and 20" AT bright wheels on there at the moment and a limestone with FE interior with 20" AT dark wheels with underbody shield and tow hooks was there this morning. I think I would have said, WTH and went for that one this morning if not for the Lighting...

My 12/15/18 reservation was originally a Max pack. When they announced that the Large pack was delivering first, I switched to that. At the beginning of January this year I placed another reservation for Max pack(pre March pricing). I took delivery of my Launch edition R1T 3/26/22 and am happy with it. I got shop access about a month ago for the second reservation and am toying with the idea of picking a truck with OC interior(also something I changed to get my R1T earlier). I've got 23,000 miles on my R1T and have only wanted for extra range when towing(not often). Once the charging speed and infrastructure improves, the need for more range will be negated. For now though, I'll hold out for Max pack.

I’m a 2020 Max order. Got access to the shop last week as well but I’m also holding out. Dog man called it though, here they go raising prices again knowing there’s not enough of us to fuss about it. I love Rivian. I understand increase of costs. But this is a real sleazy way to run the company, especially in silence to essentially screw some of the most loyal of preorder holders that never canceled.

hah, new 'we've deleted things from your order' email, all the options, spare tires, cross bars, all weather mats. you know, the things you always typically get from a car dealer when you buy a car.

You know how I know you haven't priced these recently? 25% of the cost, that's laughable, if anything they're more expensive. RTT's that hold 2-3 people are from $3k to 5K unless you just get a tarp and lay it under some sticks.

You can get a RTT for less than $2k all day that is the same or better quality than the Yakima tent Rivian was providing.

Didn't it say that you will still have pre March pricing?

Perhaps in yonder times but those items are now almost invariably additional cost options these days.
