Max pack order invited to R1T Shop. Again...

Got a new email to confirm my address and get invited to the R1T Shop. This is the second time this has happened. Last time I confirmed saw a total of 3 trucks in the shop during the time I was invited, Rivian customer service guy I talked to on the phone just said that if I don't pick one my access to the shop will expire and nothing changes.

I'm still going to hold out for a Max Pack since I have an inbound Ford Lighting. But I have to wonder... Are other Max Pack people getting these invites? Is it just going off our reservation dates and locations and not our chosen online configuration? Or are they trying to push us to order R1Ts now and not keep waiting? Probably both factors apply.

Have to admit it's tempting. But not going to burn up my ticket to early pre-order pricing just yet if Max Pack is still on the table.

I don’t blame you for holding out, especially if you need or want the additional range. Just don’t forget that Rivian *could* change their mind again on your pre 3/1 pricing any time they like. I don’t see them doing that unless the number of holdouts is so small it wouldn’t get much attention if they complained, but it IS still a possibility. If they did that I hope they would at least offer you a last chance to switch to a standard battery but who knows??‍♂

I got the email yesterday as well. This is my first time receiving this email and have yet to get a link to the shop. I do not intend to give up my max pack. I just am wondering/concerned how cut down the truck will be in comparison to the original specs/features.

I have also had two invites and was very tempted with the most recent one as they had several trucks that matched my build minus the max battery. As much as i would love to go ahead and get it and was quite disappointed with the most recent delivery update (Jan-Dec 2024), i want the longer range. if Rivian ends up cancelling the max battery, i also have a reservation for the silverado which is showing a potentially earlier delivery than the R1T at this point.

I was a max pack preorder holder, got shop access in late July or early August 2022 and snagged a large pack. This access is nothing new. I was told shop access is based on order date and location.

I do have a second preorder currently configured for an R1S but seriously thinking of switching to R1T Max pack.

Yeah, I really need more range. I don't tow often these days, but still need 200+ miles of reliable towing range when I do. Mostly I need a truck able to spend a bit more time off grid than the 300 mile pack is capable of or to reliably make 250 miles in freezing cold. So I'm really looking for a 400+ mile rated truck.

Like I said, I have a Lightning inbound. So will take that until I can get something truly more functional for me. Lightning is a bit better for me with its power options and larger bed. Otherwise it's a toss-up and in a lot of ways I like the R1T better. I was in a situation where I was going to take either one, whichever I could get first. ...Need a new truck like months ago. Probably would have just taken the R1T the first time I got invited to the shop if they would have had the config I wanted. But all that showed up for me the first time around was a forest green, blue and a silver. All with 21" wheels, black interior, no underbody shield... If they would've had a limestone with FG or OC interior, off-road add-ons and 20" AT (especially dark), I probably would've taken it. Now with the Lightning, I'll wait.

Yeah, if you start with it charged up and battery pre-conditioned/ warmed up, you should make it if you don't push too hard or hit bad weather. Did you give it a try and if so, how did it do? I'd probably throw a generator in the back, just in case I needed to camp and charge...

Got my R1 Shop access this time around yesterday (Monday) morning. A couple well-rounded configurations that seemed to get snatched up pretty quick. I'm just watching out of curiosity at this point...

I was invited despite having a truck and a locked max pack config. My guide told me the max pack trucks are located in the back of the shop with the unicorns. ?

Also just watching the shop out of curiosity. Happy to enjoy my large pack and see what comes of the max pack.

I’m a Max holder and I also just got invited to the shop.

Not taking the bait.

I feel like there will be a semi-major update to the R1T by summer/fall2023. Newly designed tonneau, winch option, new color(s), small design tweaks such as a gear tunnel popper and better phone charger, plus more info on Max pack and enduro motors, including possibly a “plaid” R1T with four enduro motors at 1200hp.

So I’m waiting. Even just offering a newly designed tonneau might be enough. But as is? No thanks.

We were max pack preorder holders until about a month ago. We were granted access to the shop and decided we did not want to wait until late 2024 for max pack. Our concern was range in the cold in MN. So far it takes about half again the number of miles to get somewhere so a 100-mile trip will take approximately 150 miles of range to put it simply. Of course, this is going to vary considerably based on temp and wind. There are many other posters that have analyzed the range.
