Anyone having to resort to manually moving the vent. The display doesn't move it far enough and I have to resort to sticking my finger and manually moving it farther to the left and then the air is blowing in the right direction. Once in that position the AC is awesome. Sometimes over-engineering is not the best thing and I sure miss the manual vent tabs.

i had an issue where it would not point to where i wanted, even though the screen said it was and it had worked before. did a soft reset and it fixed it.

I think in the latest update there is an issue with vent position. It’s like there is a disconnect between the actual vent position and where the screen thinks it is. If I turn the vent off, let the vent close, then turn back on it seems the position is corrected. I haven’t tried a soft reset yet.

This would suggest that "display dragging" the vent icon to move the actual vent via servo motor is not as efficient or accurate as simply moving the vent tab or knob manually. Shocker!!
Who started this display vent dragging stuff? Tesla?

Let’s create as many unnecessary fail points as possible to out Tech the competition.

Should have gone with voice control only for everything, including door opening.

I want to use my arms and hands as little as possible after free-solo climbing El Capitan in my Rivian branded urban outdoor clothing.

Touching a screen is so 2007.

KISS - keep it simple stupid!

Rivian loves to over automate everything. I just want a truck that does what I want it to do, I do not want it thinking for me.

Lol. Doesn’t the Mercedes EQS respond to hand gestures? But, wouldn’t we love a little Mercedes build quality?

I have what seems like vent calibration issues. I can have it set then get in again and it's off. Like my left vent, if I drag it to right on me it is still at window. Ha e to drag the display all the way left then alm the way right again and it's like it resyncs. Same with center vents at times. Really wished we had manual vents or my software was more in sync with the physical positions.

I’m convinced there’s little gnomes back there’s controlling my vents. Those sadistic little beasts think it’s their life mission to blast cold AC air directly at my face. I love the vents and reset them only to have them pointed at me again.

Searxh as I might, I haven’t seen anything in the Owners Manuel about how to make a peace offering to the Dash Vent Gnomes…

From what I’ve read on here, I think several Rivian owners use hand gestures with the HVAC. They only use one finger, really. :CWL:
