iPhone app hasn't been working for weeks

I've had my R1S for 3 years, and my phone as a key has always worked perfectly. Now it won't unlock unless I open the app and hit unlock. And the car thinks theres no key present until I swipe out and reopen the app. Ive done a soft reset, made sure everything on my phone is updated...any thoughts?

Did you recently update your iphone? It might be an OS change that is putting your app to sleep when it is not at the forefront to save battery. I'm not familiar enough with iPhones to tell you how to check that though.

Have you killed the app on the phone and rebooted the phone?

Sonds like the app on the phone is in an odd state.

Did you check the location setting under the iOS Rivian app to ensure it set to ‘Always’ and not ‘While Using’?

I have, nothing changed sadly.

Yes location is set to always.

Reboot the phone. If it doesn't get better, re-pair in the car. Bluetooth is a garbage protocol.

Does it work with your key fob, if you have it configured?

I had the same experience after the latest update. To the point it would tell me in the app that there was a bluetooth connectivity error while trying to open or even drive the vehicle. Resetting the phone (iphone 17) solved 90% of the issues. I still have an occasional lag when standing next to the vehicle and using PAAK to proximity unlock.

You might try deleting the bluetooth connections on your phone and reconnecting, deleting/reinstalling the app, and/or removing the phone as a key completely from the app.

It’s been about the same issues for me. Sometimes it unlocks normally but most of the time I have to be right at the drivers door or have to pull out the phone to unlock. It’s definitely been worse after one of the last updates.
