Hit n run… fix or total??

Got hit while I was parked at work. Of course they didn’t stop and leave a note. Already contacted State Farm. Wonder if it is totaled. I am soooo bummed

The body shop is going to have to drop a lot of plastic panels to get a good look underneath.

WTF?!?! Did they hit, back up, hit again, then run? How do you crumple the rear corner AND the gear tunnel, but somehow avoid the wheel?

Sorry to see and read. Hope there was a note left behind from whomever did this.

It looks like there were two hard edges that got both sides of the rear wheel.

Its Rivian, so the repair will most likely be $30K~$40k so it probably will exceed 50% of the current value - totaled....

Ya the neighbor and I were trying to figure that out. Maybe a delivery truck backed into it twice trying to turn around?

I'm sorry to see this happen to you; I would be devastated if someone crashed out my truck. I don't know if the forum is the best place to answer this question, since it ultimately depends on what your insurer's adjuster thinks, but forum members often have good suggestions for local shops with Rivian experience. Whatever happens, I hope you get back on the road with your truck or a replacement soon, so that this feels like a distant memory.

If that is what happened, then the axle took some of the force. Which means the rear drive unit, mounting points and frame. So most likely totaled. At which point, video evidence would only provide relief for State Farm since they’d potentially have someone to pursue to recover whatever payout they give to OP. From OP’s end, this wouldn’t make much difference.
