I agree with you on this. I have a Gen 1 and a Gen 2. The Gen 1 sounds like things are going to rattle off and the Gen 2 is as quiet as can be. Too bad, the Gen 2 is my significant other’s. I told her, mine’s going on the chopping block when the time comes for a new qm as well. Can’t wait for that moment. However, the Gen 1 sound system is much better than the Gen 2 system. My gen 1 22 r1t had the front subframe replaced, dampers, half shafts and hubs and jounce lines, which all helped with both the noise and feel of the suspension. Then I drove a 26 gen 2 and realized how much better (smoother, less noisy) the suspension was in that vehicle. I traded in my qm for a new qm.
Care to share the repair order details?I just had my front dampers and jounce lines replaced under warranty
It was making a similar noise but more pronounced at slow speeds, going around corners, where there are bumps. But when I brought it in for the noise to the SC the advisor who drove with me in the truck heard it and said he thinks he knows just what it is. They diagnosed it the next day.
if you have this noise and it is annoying you I would try a different SC and see what they say.
good luck
I've shared them here in other threads. I don't have access to that trucks maintenance records anymore.Care to share the repair order details?
That's my favorite noise... It drove me nuts 1 month into ownership.I have an early Gen1 build with no suspension work other than a recently replaced rear damper that was leaking, and I don’t experience any noises like that. The only issue I notice is a very slight “rocks in a can” rattle from the front left wheel when driving over broken pavement at lower speeds.
For some it’s the fix.Oh no, don't tell me thatI'm due to get my halfshafts replaced in six weeks (ugh service timelines are so long).
