With so few gen2 on the road it wouldn’t make sense to release a Halloween trick only for them.

Going to be super sad if this drops as a software update on the 18th, and then it takes my R1 two weeks to get the update.

Not the case last year. Normally I get OTAs (via on-board LTE) a week to two week after initial reports of rollout. However, for Halloween, I got it around the same time as everyone else, ahead of Halloween.

Gen 1 owners just get the Owl hoot back, by popular demand! LOL.

This is the first time I’ve got my truck over Halloween (last year it was at the SC the whole time), so I plan on hooting the F out of it. ?

Oh I REALLY wanna hit 88 now

Oh! How about this: Gen 1 gets launch mode, but it only lets you get up to 88 mph. Then when you get pulled over for going that fast in a 25 mph zone, the officer stands by your window...

"Do you know how fast you were going?!"

I love the Knight Rider theme, but if we can’t have it as Gen 1 owners I don’t even care - give me the owl or the organ and some zombies and witches and I’ll be thrilled. It’s a fun thing they give us that makes even a grizzled bastard like me smile every time.

Does anyone have confirmation any of this is gen 2 only?

If Rivian can make these themes and skins why aren’t they selling them? I bet people would pay an unlock fee for a knight rider screen or back to the future theme on the infotainment.

It’s cool they give them for free for a limited time but after that time is expired they should sell them to keep them unlocked.

Yes. Fully addressable light bars. They can do more things with the light bars than gen 1

Yes. Fully addressable light bars. They can do more things with the light bars than gen 1

We don't know that they are fully addressable. What we do know, is that Gen 1 aren't fully RGB...

I'm SO EXCITED FOR THIS! Back to the Future is my favorite movie of all time!

Also - I'm certain that there's something coming to all R1s regardless of generation. If the light bar is the entirety of "Halloween Mode" that's going to be a huge disappointment for everyone involved. The fact that they're specifically calling out copyright for knight rider and back to the future, I'm guessing there will be other theming elements. Possibly music or something? Maybe a Tesla - like light show?

I just wish they would allow us to keep whatever theme they give us up to so many (i.e. maybe only get to keep 5 or 6 active).
