I already got told it was spec when they compared my Tri to demo TriSHHHhhhh! Soon they will say it is in spec, just like Tesla, if they all do that.

This is how I feel. If it cant handle a grocery run down the road, how am I supposed to be confident "adventuring" in this thing? My LE QM R1T started having problems at 3,000 miles. At 12,000 miles Rivian finally took it back. Apparently driving back and forth to the grocery store on city streets was too much for it.
those are the bearings. This is what I am currently dealing with. Have an appointment next week. They stated they believe it’s the half shafts as well.
They didn't replace the bearings. They replaced both halfshafts, and the issue is completely fixed for now.those are the bearings.
In my Gen1 experience - replaced dampers, halfshafts, jounce parts, and hub/knuckle did not fix anything. The vehicle only got shakier and noisier. Are people finding that once their half shafts have been replaced the problem is gone? I.e., is the replacement part superior than the original? Or do these things just keep failing?
In my case, so far so good. My front half shaft had play that developed early on, and progressively just got more and more apparent between regen and acceleration. They replaced the front passenger side in December 2024, but when they did that, all my issues went away. It drove smooth, with no signs of play. I honestly felt like I had a better than new vehicle. Are people finding that once their half shafts have been replaced the problem is gone? I.e., is the replacement part superior than the original? It is definitely better. After a few hundred miles though, the play in the drivetrain is starting to return somewhat. Time will tell if it settles in at a new lower level or continues to get worse. I’m wondering if this is something we’ll just have to live with…Are people finding that once their half shafts have been replaced the problem is gone? I would be curious to ride in this particular R1 and hear it for myself. Tacoma is FAR away though. It's very encouraging that there are folks out there that have had the issues, had them fixed, and the fixes have held over a long period of time.
Yes, yes it is.I would be curious to ride in this particular R1 and hear it for myself. Tacoma is FAR away though.
I can't imagine what paying for all those repairs would cost if one was out of warrantyMine took a little more getting replaced to fix everything; but after having the both front half shafts, hubs, front drive unit, jounce lines, full front suspension, and the subframe replaced (across 2 visits that took my truck for about 3 months).... It's running and riding great.
Now if they'd offer a longer comprehensive optional warranty; I'd keep my 30xx vin R1T for as long as they'll support. Love the truck.
Just get an extended warranty through Xcare. I was able to cover my truck for an extra 10 years and 175k miles.Mine took a little more getting replaced to fix everything; but after having the both front half shafts, hubs, front drive unit, jounce lines, full front suspension, and the subframe replaced (across 2 visits that took my truck for about 3 months)....
