Got up early to charge in an empty parking lot at 4am for a road trip. Just me or does anyone else feel like they’re in that beginning scene of Back to the Future with Doc/Marty and the Iranians coming for the stolen plutonium?

That does look eerily like the parking lot where Marty goes back to 1955. We had a DeLorean for over 30 years. On several occasions, I did take to 88 mph with no time warp. Maybe I needed to be in a mall parking lot a 4:00 AM for the DeLorean to enter its time exploration mode. If I still had the DeLorean, I might try again.

It is interesting that even almost 40 years ago, the Iranians were the bad guys.

Which looks just like 99% of malls in America. BTW, the clock tower? Just a tiny portion of Universal Studios' backlot. The Lyon Estates gates (foam or fiberglass props) were kept there when I shot there in '18.

Back to the Future is one of my favorite movies of all time. A time travel movie starring an R1T would be good also. It already has a large screen to enter the time warp adjustment.

I was away from home and returning. Former Tesla owner, new R1T owner. Will be much better once RAN network built out more and/or Teslas Superchargers are available to us. Navigating the EVGo, Electrify America, etc circuit on a road trip is for the birds. Never thought twice with my Tesla MS. I was able to hit the RAN station in Benton Harbor, MI and it was solid - looking forward to more of those on the road. Until then, kind of a pain to get quick charges, candidly. Other thing - the EVGos, etc have not figured it out - put the chargers in a remote location on Walmart parking lot, not right in the middle. Impossible to queue who is up next when full, traffic blazing up and down the aisle - like zero thought was put into the location of some of these EV chargers. Crazy.

We have run into a couple of EA stations like that. One was on the main driving aisle in and out of the WalMart parking lot. They must have sent an absolute idiot out to select that location.

Yesterday in Buttonwillow, Ca I pulled into a RAN. There were 9 Rivian charger, hala dozen electrify America, and 8 or 10 Tesla. I was the only Rivia there but there were 14 Teslas. So many that they were blocking the Rivian chargers with their waiting line.
