I'm eager to get back into the RIDE menu. I'm thinking if the passcode is fixed per firmware and not depending on the VIN or other stuff. And we have enough volunteers. It wouldn't take long to know the code.
I'm wondering how many folks here are interested?
And of course, only the ones participated in the cracking would know the code and we're not supposed to publish the result.

The backdoor Rivian put into the firmware to access internal variables providing more insights to the vehicle.

ah yes I want that shouldn't even be a back door thing though. There should just be alot more info when you click on the energy tab like a bigger energy usage graph. Also more info on why we have our power settings for instance you go into conserve and it blocks out half the power bar makes sence sure 2 of the motors are disconnected. I did a hard accelerate the other day "all purpose" and it didn't feel like full power i put it into "sport" and watched the bar it comes up then the crass hatched section comes down and it limited it to like 75 to 80% power im guessing because i was around 20% battery but why doesn't it show that and tell me why?

all purpose is limited to 90% IIRC.

when I flipped it to sport it did the same.
I think you might only get 100% if you do what would be a brake torque launch in an ICE? Brake down, throttle down all the way, drop/lift your foot off the brake. I don't have my truck to verify it right now but it definitely feels like it hits harder than just stomping the throttle.

oh, I missed that. The truck definitely doesn't have the same power that low. Voltage drop is greater at a low state of charge and you're starting with less voltage overall too. Some vehicles will increase the amount of current available up to a point. No idea what Rivian's strategy is but it doesn't seem as punitive as Polestar's.

What were the key presses to get you to the ride screen password? Pretty sure John Muir was involved and it wasn't up down left right A B A B...

I think it's taps on the top menu bar? ride screen then shows up under the three dots on the bottom.

I bet it authenticates against a server now rather than locally. I can't imagine them making the same mistake and simply changing the password.

Possibly. But I doubt they’re going through the trouble to make it this complex. It can be easily checked by moving the truck to a signal dead spot and trying a passcode.

Making it 5 digits is enough to deter a single user from brute forcing it. And the good news is that the input can also accept # and *. And after the last update, those two symbols got removed so that means the code is pure numbers. Max of 99999 combinations.
