  1. TPMS Supported Pressure Range

I had these tires on my truck and the TPMS seems to work fine. I have them pumped to 60psi not 80psi though.
  2. Need more range for skiing

I also don't like to have the battery sitting at 100% for long. That's why for my road trips which needs 100% SoC, I'll adjust the charging schedule to let it just finish charging at around the time I plan to leave in the morning.
  3. Ghetto method of powering the house with a Rivian

I tried running a 1000W microwave and it kinda work okay(heat things up slightly slower than having it plugged into the wall) at normal temperature. But the microwave won't heat when it's 20F outside.
  4. Cold weather range and battery temperature

The 16% usage from ABRP already has the elevation gain taken into account. So the rest of 7% is for battery preconditioning and cabin heating, well also assuming tire pressure etc are at nominal conditions.
  5. Cold weather range and battery temperature

Based on my last ski trip observation, the battery preconditioning stops at around 59-60F.
  6. Cold weather range and battery temperature

Do you remember the battery temp right before the downhill drive?
  7. Cold weather range and battery temperature

No, I don't think so. Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
  8. Cold weather range and battery temperature

Randomly picked a town roughly matching your detail here from ABRP shows driving ~33mile with an elevation gain of ~1400ft uses about 16% of the battery. That means your case shows heating up the cabin and the battery used about 7%. Using 16lbs per kwh for battery and thermal capacity of 950...
  9. Anyone using Rivian (unofficial) integration with Home Assistant?

What does the "Battery Thermal Status" show? I'd like to know if battery temperature can be logged through HA.
  10. R1T phantom drain and possible work around

I would not recommend doing this to save a few KWh due to the phantom drain issue. Having the chassis ground terminal removed could possibly cause low voltage circuit reliability issue. Even though you can still measure the battery voltage between the chassis and the positive terminal doesn't...
  11. Kneel Mode stresses suspension?

If you use the auto ride height feature, having the kneel mode enable won’t stress the suspension more in any noticeable degree.
  12. Cybertruck has a usable range of 266 miles? 🤔

Based on the nav trip distance/time estimation and the name of the destination. It looks like the driver is going from this Tesla Supercharger [701 S Capital of Texas Hwy, West Lake Hills, TX 78746] to this Tesla service center? [2323 Ridgepoint Dr, Austin, TX 78754] ABRP shows for R1T with 22"...
  13. Software Update 2023.42.0 is out (⚠️ UPDATE: OTA fix rolling out today 11/15/23)

Got this update right before dinner. Looks like they have a solution. Just don't know the detail yet. By the way, I'm not a software engineer but AFAIK, the issue is caused by an invalid certificate (through the cloud I guess)? Could this be solved by temporarily validate the certificate on...
  14. Software Update 2023.42.0 is out (⚠️ UPDATE: OTA fix rolling out today 11/15/23)

Looks like the phone app still work for preconditioning and open the frunk/tailgate. when I get in, I can hear AC going. The truck can still drive. I’ll pull out the camp speaker for music then.
  15. Yikes! Overheating motors.

I believed this behavior is expected. I've notice this when navigating to a DC fast charger and preconditioning started. The system will increase the power to the motor's stators to create heat (will lower the power once the motor temperature is near the red line) and motor cooling loop will...
  16. R1S car camping = successful experience

It would make a big difference if you put the roof glass shade on.
  17. Will this cooktop burner work with Rivian?

According to the spec, as long as you’re not using both burners at the max setting at the same time, you’ll be fine.
  18. New Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 coming soon

I think it rides just slightly harsher. To me, it's subtle.
  19. New Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 coming soon

I’m guessing the mileage warranty is lower due to the higher load rating? The tires are expected to carry higher load than the normal ones.
  20. New Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 coming soon

Got these tires 2 wks ago. I have them inflated to 60 psi and so far so good. The steering wheel feels lighter but not sure if it’s because of the higher psi I have in the tires.
