Curious how you intend on doing that. Every bolt usually has a torque spec that's really only available in a service manual. AFAIK Rivian hasn't made them publicly available yet.
I’m going to do it when I pick up the vehicle from the service center, and compare the tightness on each side.

Also curious if you all have the same take on the charge port door?
I think that was a weak take on a relatively simple mechanism. It’s a simple device pushing out the door, the entire spinning action is driven mechanically by a groove in the shaft.

I don’t see how it’s more fragile than the Model S door (which has never given me an issue), and it seems less problematic than the Model 3 door which requires pushing the door up and away from the body.

But I’m guessing as much as Rich is, so time will tell.

‘It looks like they had to remove a bunch of pieces to put it on the lift and only after that they could see the piece I posted above. It looks like every time you take it to your local mechanic, they have to do this. A time machine would be nice to go see what after warranty costs are. If any owners see their R1 on Rivian lift, please take a photo before they take it apart. Especially close up of the contact point. I am curious to see if they have to take these panels off before the lift as well. It does not make sense having a design that forces you to go under the vehicle before lifting it so I doubt Rivian is doing this.

It sounds like if you get the spare tire option, there's an adapter that slides into the hole to jack the car up. I'm sure it'll be about a year before someone makes an aftermarket part that you can buy which will allow all 4 to be jacked up. Rivian might even make them available for sale. $1.50 part, $50 at the gear shop.

They say not to use that adapter on a standard floor jack though.

I don't have it on hand but that's probably because the adapter is made to connect to the Rivian jack. The jack point is likely the same and a puck/adaapter can likely be made. Many of the same have been made for other vehicles as well to use OEM jack points.

Probably the universal German torque spec of "Guten Tight" will be enough. I was in the automotive field for a good number of years and don't know any mechanic that torque underbody panel screws, just get them "good and tight."

I've had my model s chargeport door replaced. IMO anything motorized is a potential for a problem. Heck even old fashion gas caps will eventually wear out the spring and/or the retainer clip and won't shut anymore. It's all about MTBF but I'm guessing a spring is cheaper than a motor...

Anyone that has owned both a Model 3 and has an R1T that can chime in on the hot take about the M3 vs R1T Meridian sound system? Pretty skeptical on that.

Also curious if you all have the same take on the charge port door?
I have owned a m3 SR+ and currently own a LR. The SR+ sound sucked because they disabled a bunch of speakers (including one amp and the sub) and the whole system was just unbalanced front to back.

The LR sounds much better. But there are no presets on the equalizer. And I am terrible setting it myself. So to me the Meridian system sounds better.
In the right hands and ears it may be possible to get the Tesla better than the meridian.

I also like the volume increase better in the R1T as I speed up. The Tesla system also increase volume. Just my preference how the Rivian handles it.

Tesla is maybe slightly clearer....

So there you have it... My opinion is that they both are great. Some will prefer the m3 and some the meridian. To my untrained ears the Tesla is clearer and the Rivian richer.

But I think the review was biased (duh) and the 2 systems are both very good and close. It will be subjective, not like the review makes it sound like it is not even close.

I enjoyed this video a lot more than any of the other review videos. I feel they were more honest about the things they did and did not like. Even if not all the negatives were right.
I felt it was a bit meh. Lot's of the obvious low-hanging-fruit snark and "aren't we so funny" kind of stuff. Yeah, yeah, aren't we SOOO clever and witty. Meh. I wish they spent less time on the drag strip and more time under the truck.

And all the stereotypeing of who will buy the R1T

This is the Now You Know Yt channel truck. That Steven guy, who is Rich's sidekick, is affiliated with them and used to be a regional manager for Tesla.
