Yep. Hedging my bets that Rivian can get me a truck in the next 18 months. Rivian is still my preference, but I'm a little tempted to do a base battery XLT f150, and get an R1s for the family hauler (my wife's commuter).

I thought that was tomorrow. Oops. Probably not worth reserving one now. Still, considering.

For me, the lower range and not being able to access the RAN are enough to let me move on without much hard thought.

Hoping Rivian has a plan for V2G/H similar to Ford (almost all of that is on your wall, the vehicle just needs to communicate and provide access to the battery).

Kind of surprised their biggest battery is only 300 miles. Towing range will be problematic in more rural areas. Everything else looks awesome to get more electric trucks on the road. Kudos to Ford on it.

Yeah, without RAN, I actually think the short range version and using this as a local truck is the most appealing use case.

The R1T is definitely my preference though.

Also limited fast charging to 150kw. I am sure they will get a lot of people.

I'd happily give up 100 miles of range (300 total) to have the V2G stuff. I sure hope Rivian has something similar.

Fords V2G is a game change IMO and cheaper (and more powerful) than installing two Tesla Powerwalls ($15K avg cost) - which is not even possible without buying a complete Solar setup from Tesla.

And yes, I placed a deposit.

Reservation placed. I don’t really want a truck, but being able to power my house up to three days would be useful. My power went out during the cold storm in Houston this past February. Hmm. Wait. We also flood a lot in Houston and having up to three feet of water fording in the R1S would be useful too. I guess maybe I should just move?

Why not. It's only $100 and it's not like I'm making a ton of interest on the money in the bank.

It's only a back-up. Rivian is still my 1st choice by a wide margin.

That’s not a guide. That’s a person at your local dealership that knows how to copy and paste a message.
