  1. What ICE truck are you going to buy now?

I already purchased a 2021 F-150 PowerBoost expecting it to take several years to get a Rivian. Figured with strong used prices, a trade wouldnā€™t be too bad financially. The longer I drive the F-150 and the more mistakes Rivian makes, the more I doubt a R1T is in my near term future. I donā€™t...
  2. WASHINGTON State EV Tax Credits/Rebates

The exemption is only good for trucks. And if you currently are paying RTA on a truck it is possible to use the higher scale weight instead to remove the RTA. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/transportation/heres-one-way-for-vehicle-owners-to-avoid-paying-sound-transits-car-tab-tax/
  3. Will Rivian ever deliver vehicles to non-employees?

No doubt, Rivian will start delivering at some point. Is the business model sustainable? Can they make a profit? Will they be around in 10 years to service your truck.
  4. What would make you drop your preorder?

My cars arenā€™t getting any newer right now. Whatever I buy in the next year is going to be it. The Rivian will need to be purchased in the next buying cycle if it misses this window. The R1T is my 1st choice.
  5. How are you planning to haul your ski / snowboard gear?

I measured my Yakima box. The mounts do not line up with the Rivian cross bars without going through the back window. If you do figure out how to mount it. The Yakima box is going to stick several feet out the back end.
  6. Rivian's Q3 quarterly loss is expected between $1.18B to $1.28B

Losses are going to be big until they start delivering trucks. I can't wait for the R1T to come!
  7. R1T versus F150 Hybrid/Electric...

OK, the 2022 Tundra is out. I'm completely underwhelmed.
  8. How are you planning to haul your ski / snowboard gear?

As far as a snow board in the gear tunnel, you might need to pull the boards out before pulling into the parking spot. Getting the board out with a car next to you could be awkward.
  9. How are you planning to haul your ski / snowboard gear?

My estimate is that my Yakima box will not fit over the bed. The clamps on the bottom of the box can only move so much. The factory cross bar mounts are too close to the back window. The box would likely need to go over the roof.
  10. ? Official EPA Range and MPGe Numbers for R1T & R1S

Try calling your favorite tire store and asking what tires they have in stock for 21ā€ wheels vs 20ā€ wheels. Tires for 21ā€ wheels are very likely a special order.
  11. How are you planning to haul your ski / snowboard gear?

Was considering leaving the tonneau cover slightly open and resting skis on the gate. Otherwise you are stuck with roof options. Whoever designed the truck was definitely a boarder and not a skier.
  12. ? Official EPA Range and MPGe Numbers for R1T & R1S

Replacing 21s is going to be an awful experience. I would stick with 20s. If you don't like the range. When they are worn out, find something with less aggressive tread.
  13. Rivian Guide Contacted Finally! (For Real) ?

We do it whenever is snows in our Seattle neighborhood. AWD is great. AWD +chains is amazing. I donā€™t mind going uphill without chains. Iā€™m terrified of sliding going downhill.
  14. Rivian Guide Contacted Finally! (For Real) ?

50ā€™ of 6/3 wire is under $300 at Home Depot. Yes that is 3x what I paid 6 years ago but is still affordable.
  15. Several Concerns

I got out of line after making a reservation in January when the latest delays were announcedā€¦ figure there was no good reason to tie up $1k to be near the end of the line. There might be a slight uptick in reservations after first deliveries. Otherwise you will likely get better options...
  16. Rivian’s Bellevue service center - first look

Just dropped off a car at Avis next door. Lights are on and employees are working inside.
  17. INTERIOR feature / details just posted at Rivian.com

Mirror to mirror width on a full sized truck is usually a little over 96ā€. The Rivian mirror to mirror is 88ā€.

Canā€™t wait for a test drive.
  19. R1T versus F150 Hybrid/Electric...

Real world road trip in Seattle with hot or cold weather, headed over a pass at 72 mph 360-370 watts per mile is typical for me. I also get range anxiety below 30 miles of spare.
  20. R1T versus F150 Hybrid/Electric...

The source of this information was a prototype truck. The battery could be oversized or the software might not have been tuned correctly. The dash may have provided an accurate range. The driving on the day of the event might not be realistic. Other than being tempted by the amazing frunk, Iā€™m...
