Ordered a R1T dual max from the shop mid July. A day before delivery I got a call saying the vehicle had damage and needs to be repaired so delivery is delayed. Customer service said to expect five days but it keeps delaying. I am given an estimated date, then a day or two before, Rivian pushes the date back. It's going on three weeks of these additional delays now. The vehicle is supposedly at a third party shop but I haven't been given the specific reason of these continued delays or even the full detail of the repairs needed.
Is this a common occurrence with Rivian deliveries? I understand repairing the vehicle before delivery, but the transparency about the time frame and constant shifting dates is concerning. I'm wondering if it would be better to just switch to a different vehicle at this point.
