It looks like the upper ball joint bolt wasn’t tightened properly on the Cybertruck!

Surprised we haven’t seen one rolled over after driving slowly across a field yet.

Likely tire rod, they had larger offset and tires. Ask Bronco owners that tried the same and went off-road vs the mall.

Look at the picture, it was the upper ball joint that popped out, with no bolt.

Nice side by side

The Cybertruck right wheel fell off at King of the Hammers:

Presumably from doing some drifts:

Hard to look cool when a wheel falls off.

Time for a recall that isn't just a software update.

Didn’t really loose a wheel but… yeah doesn’t look quite right 🤔

I last heard that they drove it out in reverse and got it to a gate.

FWIW we did have a lightning and a Rivian break the bead while doing donuts at too low of psi

Both self recovered with minimal fuss
The Rivian owner said they were at 31psi, the lightning owner mentioned 20psi so definitely too low in that case.

That was such a strange incident, I wonder if the Engineers Rivian sent out, ever figured out what caused it? Guy is probably still under an NDA 🤔🤣

This was at the Optima Unplugged Event... it was a great 2 days of adventuring at King of Hammers. The Cybertruck was rippin' it up, super nice driver playing hard. It's hard not to give some honest guff because it broke, but over Thanksgiving I was doing the same thing at MUCH lower speeds in my R1T and busted my tie rod, disappointing, but doesn't make me love my Rivian any less... it still does 100 things great, if not drifting in sand (which is tough to design around for such a heavy vehicle and forces coming in every direction)

Here are some videos I shot of the CT tearing it up before it broke

Optima Batteries hosts were super helpful to everyone there, Rivian Club members also were a big help. A Riv lost a bead on a tire and so did a Lightning.... but those were much simpler fixes and much less EXCITEMENT. I was watching the CT's to fail all day and they both did fine on the standard stuff. This one was just pushin' the edge a lot (and having fun doing it, which was the point)
