if you don’t want to pay for LTE, you don’t have too. You can still stream your phone to your Rivian. Or buy a car with CarPlay. You have choices.

Polestar's connectivity is supposed to be limited at 3 years, but I haven't heard of anyone losing it yet. I also don't see any place for a subscription in my account anywhere. My 3 years is up in October. I'll admit to not really following anything polestar related much since I bought my Rivian. Last I knew, Polestar was just extending out the length of the connectivity because they hadn't figured out exactly how they were going to do it.

Yeah I think they’re probably scrambling over other things, chief among them being imminent delisting from NASDAQ. Still love the car though.

I WAS GOING TO BUY TWENTY TRI-MOTORS AT $115K EACH TODAY BUT NOW I'M NOT GOING TO BECAUSE RIVIAN IS GOING TO CHARGE ME (*CHECKS NOTES*) $12.50/MONTH (AFTER A 60 DAY FREE TRIAL PERIOD) TO USE THE DATA THAT AT&T IS CHARGING THEM FOR (WITH THE OPTION TO PAY NOTHING & JUST CONTINUE USING THE MEDIA FEATURES BUILT INTO THE VEHICLE FOR FREE BY TETHERING TO MY OWN PHONE THAT USES THE DATA I PAY FOR MYSELF)!!!!!

Rookie....I was going to buy 25 G2 QM at 130k each....but now I will just drive my Carrera GT, Ferrari GTO, and Chiron more instead....

A free ride is great from an owner perspective but as a stockholder (one who has spent WAY too much $$ buying a never ending dip) Rivian needs to start making some damn money!

They are STILL losing $30K per vehicle sold! Just don't try and put seat heaters on subscription (I'm pointing my middle finger at you, BMW) and I'll be good...

It absolutely was NOT built into the price for any owner. They have stated multiple times over the years that there would be a charge.

I believe the language was something like, included for the first 12 months....

I understand your point, but I fail to see how getting 59 or 55 or 50 days free instead of 60 “affects” anyone at all? Life will go on and honestly this is such a weird thing to fixate on I doubt new customers will care either. If they buy in October they will get 60 days from the time of purchase so why would they be upset? And if they get no free trial they will just have to compare features and decide without it…

I guess that’s the point. I agree this really “affects” no one, including Rivian. Thus it’s wrong to not just do things in a way that is more customer focused and friendly. If this (a month or so of connect+) DOES materially affect the survival of Rivian then they don’t deserve to be in business…and I have a lot to lose by that statement.

Rivian wants everything positive they can get for Q4 numbers. All publicly traded businesses seem to be run this way. Shareholders above customers.

I get it. Maybe I have a different view because of the extremely customer friendly favor they did me by allowing me to keep my early pricing. For me it was the difference between being able to get mine or not, so that bought a lot of goodwill from me. I can’t recall any other companies doing anything similar…. By that I mean actually listening to their customers and retracting that decision.

I’m still unclear as to whether certain apps will be inaccessible without connect+ or if it’s just the data. I understand some features like gear guard streaming wouldn’t work but do I really need to pay 15 bucks a month just to use my Apple Music subscription?
