I remember when I had my Tesla they programed it so the vehicle would give you a festive concert with lights coordinated to the music, it was very original and very impressive. I wonder if Tesla still does that?

Yes, our 2023 Model X and my 2017 Model S both have Christmas modes which can actually be enabled any time of year. The light show, with the automated doors on the Model X, is definitely a fan favorite!

it would be great if Rivian did something similar. Even just allowing us to change the color of the interior lighting (thinking red and green). And people that don’t celebrate can just leave it disabled.

I would love to have a mode like this too, but the reality is that everything they add like this is more complication for a software stack that is already under considerable pressure. I would rather have text messaging, resume-cruise control, or navigation improvements one month sooner than have any holiday mode.

I am not an IT guy but I would agree if extra programing just for fun would cause extra software stress.

This is offensive to those of us who live in a warm climate.
Yeah. I feel ya. Did Christmas in the Bahamas one year and it was weird as hell.

How about just letting us control the color of the interior accent lighting ourselves?
Yeah I think they could reduce the pressure to do holiday modes by just unlocking the functionality that we already know exist like custom unlock/lock sounds and RGBW accent lighting inside. I wouldn't even mind if it's all paywalled, just open it up.

Snowflakes, sleigh bells, sleds, snow people and blue lights are fairly inoffensive.

We just got 2023.46.0 a week ago? Maybe a week and a half? Updates are every 4 weeks.

You're not going to see another update for three more weeks. Too late for Christmas.

Given all the complaining about Halloween mode this year I don't think we deserve any future "modes"
I think we deserve a mode called “choose your own settings” mode.
Like rgb lighting control. And changing the obnoxious turn signal tone to something else that doesn’t sound gritty and high pitch sibilance. And would be nice to change the tones for lock and unlock. Similar to Tesla allowing more freedom to do what you want with the vehicle.

im a bit shocked Rivian doesn’t have more “fun” and is a bit overly stuffy with its interface/OS.
