For a while there we had Friday updates. And Tony seemed to be establishing some rhythm. Since April, though, emails have tended to be on Thursday - or perhaps Saturday...and of course we haven't seen anything (yet) this week. And we haven't heard from Tony in more than a month.

Every time it seems like they're making progress on their communications the progress stops.

I’m not surprised the Friday emails fell off. There’s only so much that can be said on a weekly basis. They would have very quickly lost any sort of substance and every email would just say “Hey, we’re continuing to ramp production and excited to get a Rivian in your driveway soon. Stay Adventurous!”.

They were correcting previous promises, but by and far now nobody has a specific date that needs correction and deliveries are underway.

Today "or yesterday" was the Instagram update about the Amazon vans.

I think they could still be doing some short emails just to keep people engaged and on the hook. They can provide information on things being reported like the EDV updates for Amazon, new release of the phone app, other things. Only a handful of reservation holders are on the forums, I’m sure others would like to see these kind of updates. It would not take that much effort to set and keep a cadence even if it was bi-weekly or monthly. It would pay decent dividends on a customer engagement perspective For minimal effort.

I think what they've learned from the "end of May (but really mid-June)" R1S delivery date debacle is not to make any promises about comms.

I'm sure all of us wanted "update us as soon as you know a current delivery window won't be met, even if you don't yet have a new specific delivery estimate" to be their takeaway. But that sure won't be happening.

The real question: are the new R1S delivery windows going to be like the "January/February 2022" R1T windows, which all became March or later, or is Rivian going to actually hit them? I suppose we'll have a good idea by Labor Day.

There's no point. Those blasts just ended up changing later anyway.

They just need to streamline their order fulfillment process and get trucks in customer hands.

Those emails probably were initiated with good intentions but lack of real content or data/information, it quickly became a source of irritation for the preorder holders.

My guess is that they stopped as the result and now reaching out to the community as events happens (e.g., Venice Hub, EDV as already mentioned).

Did any of you think that those emails added real insight or value??? I did not.
