Videos take a while to make, but this should give OP all the info they need about the possibility of adding rails. I'm really curious about the amount of void space that still exists in places- behind the battery and behind the air compressor tank. I'm going to investigate putting a larger compressor in and a larger buffer tank so it can switch modes quicker and more reliably.
It's planned for max pack usage, but I agree for non max pack it'd be nice if it has a use.

I’ll post my L track (airline track) pics and solution next week. Two 48” pieces of L track on the front bed wall and two other ones on the side of the bed. All screwed into the metal bed behind the plastic cover using existing holes.

Some 8020 bolted through the liner to the factory bolts here would work pretty well....

Here you go - two 4 foot sections of airline track, a box of screws from Amazon (M6 - 1.0 x 30) some modified wheels chocks for my dirt bikes and a couple tie down loops I had lying around.

Yes, those are Rivnuts and they go thru to the gear tunnel. You could easily add more if needed - both for the bed or securing something in the gear tunnel.

Great job! I run this airline track on my Hummer and love the versatility and options. I will probably do this same mod to my R1T.

I'd like to do exactly this. It'd be a great place to hold traction boards and whatever else

The upcoming Molle panels from BuiltRight will have more versatility.

I was planning to do the side of the bed as well but I haven't found any pics showing how those bolts are secured so that project is on standby.

I bought the wheel chocks here:

https://ccrsport.com/ccr-sport-protrack-motorcycle-wheel-chock/

I did have to cut down the top edge so it would fit under the tonneau cover. I also used some L track bolts to secure them instead the ones that were included.

Thank you! I wish the L track can sit a bit lower so the chock can clear the tonneau cover. Or I guess find some other chocks so I dont have to cut it

There's not many chock choices that I found as the L track sits so high.

Thanks for the news that BuiltRight will be making Molle panels for the Rivian!

I suspect that many in these forums are not familiar with Molle systems. If you are not, click here to see some images of ideas regarding what can be easily attached.

I searched and found this video that shows what BuiltRight is making. The video is longish, showing their prototype process, but the last minute or so shows the prototype installed.

Some will notice that it is made in two pieces. Not to worry, the Tacoma version is made this way as well and in 3-4 years I've not had rattle issues or any need to adjust/tighten. It was pre-drilled perfectly and bolted on in minutes. It has (still) a really nice, durable finish.

Having said all that, I'm not so convinced Molle, as versatile as it is, would be better in all use cases. The ease of use for positioning D-rings on the L-Track for example is really nice. Thanks to @RivianXpress for the channel implementation.

How about both? Click on this link to get an idea on how the two solutions (Molle/L-Track) might be able to be combined. The Tacoma doesn't come with L-Track, but does have a 'similar' track. The BuiltRight panel installs behind the channel.
