How are badges like these generally attached? How do you remove them without hurting the finish?
double Sided fosm tape usually. Very strong, will come off with heat and some floss or fishing line to cut the adhesive.

quite rare these days for there to be holes behind them.

Heat gun or hair drier and floss behind the emblem. Some are harder than others and always research if the badge has holding pins of so there are holes drilled in the body and it won’t look clean.
The holes is what I was worried about. I guess I naively assumed they all used pins to stay on.

It will look the best on White Imho with the contrast of white/gold/yellow. I'm glad I'm not the only fan of the badging.
Have to agree with you! The gold letters on white look great. Too bad I'm gonna go for Forest Green and Black 20's AT's, the badging doesn't look as cool

I like to remove the badge on the frunk hood for a cleaner look, but it seems that will leave a dent under the old badge on the bonnet. Any ideas?

Am I the only one who appreciates the irony of the "Badge Appreciation Thread" being turned into a discussion about how to most effectively remove the badges without damage?

I don’t like driving a generic vehicle so badging stays. ?. Plus the fact that without badging I’ll have people coming up asking “What vehicle is that” every time i stop somewhere…and as a super introvert, I’d get annoyed very quickly.

Personally I agree regarding branding and Rivian, they did a great job with their font and emblem and love how it looks.

I do know that there is a large "de-badging" contingent out there though so I'm not surprised people want to do so.

Leave them on, take them off, neither will hurt my feelings.

If I was to remove any, it would be the side badges for aero reasons and easier to clean off the mud.

If I was going to remove most of them, the bonnet badge would stay as would the R1T badge on the tailgate. I like it. But I'm not going to do this because it sounds like a lot of work for purely cosmetic reasons.

I personally like the Rivian compass logo very much. If I had to change one part of exterior badging, I would replace the " R I V I A N" on the back with just the compass logo.

That’s what I’ve been thinking of doing.

I order Rivian Blue and I plan to take off all the badges and have the painted Red and put them back on. Its going to take a while before I could do all this. But I will get it done.

I could go for that! That would look tight…I really like the compass logo!

Would be kinda like the ram head vs spelling “RAM”

I attended Fully Charged Live 2020 for work right before the pandemic hit, and I was struck by how well done rivian's branding was on the two display models. I made this as a part of my write up on the event.
