Nothing posted anywhere I could find. Rivian hasn't even confirmed publicly they are launching the R1 refresh today.Do we know if there is going to be a stream for this event?
I'd really like to see the return of the Explore trim level as well. An option to get into the low/mid $60k range could put the R1's in reach for a lot more buyers.Price cut with release of lower trim Explore model.
In either guise, R1 already has a reputation as a performer, both on road and off. Second generation cars will receive Rivian’s new drive unit in either Tri- or Quad-motor configurations, alongside the existing Dual-Motor option. No-one is especially wowed by the numbers that a big, heavy electric SUV can achieve any more, but for the record, the high-performance Quad-Motor has the equivalent of 1,025 horsepower and can shunt the R1T pick-up to 60mph in less than 2.5 seconds. Remember to secure any heavy loads.
Here's one that I don't think has been mentioned previously?
I've seen it posted elsewhere but only as of stupid early in the AM today. Here's one that I don't think has been mentioned previously?
"Rivian’s signature vertical lozenge-like headlights now incorporate an Adaptive Drive Beam system"
You should definitely make a new thread for this…
HAHAHA..this one is ridiculous. Very few owners have even received a message to verify their address for the NACS adapter yet. You'd think lessons had been learned via past experiences with overpromising and underdelivering...Wild speculation....
They have completed boxing and addressing NACS adapters for all existing owners and will be shipping them out Friday.
This then allows them to include the NACS adapters with all new refresh vehicles as standard equipment and delivered with the vehicle.
All in the spirit of Summer Kick Off for road tripping season.
I feel like I need to play the lottery with my projections here...Going full Eeyore on this:
And:
- Slightly tweaked exterior
- Slightly upgraded Driver+ for new vehicles (RIP all of us)
- Slightly tweaked software, with nearly all features coming 's00n'
- Slightly tweaked battery (LFP at the low end, smidge more capacity for max)
- Slightly tweaked efficiency allowing just a bit more range across the board
- Slightly tweaked wireless charger with a divider so it actually charges sometimes
- Slightly better cameras that are just a bit better than 'fine, I guess'
- Slightly more power from tri-motor enduro setup over quad (they'll call this a special name or something)
- Slightly more useful drawer standard instead of stupid Bluetooth speaker
- Slightly better charging curve. Now 10-80% in 32 minutes instead of 36!!1!!
And and:
- New wheel designs that are fine.
- A new color that is fine too. Likely another grey or silver because we can't have too many of those.
- A new frunk that is ... new
- A mixed bag on pricing (lower lows, higher highs)
- More Rivian profits.
Pretty surehow sure are you
Ok, fair, fair, you win. But from the very first page, I also predicted all the "you heard it from me first!"Pretty sure
