If you don’t want UHF, do you get to keep all current hands on features?

I don’t see why I would be using UHF on roads with lights and stop signs would since I’d continuously have to grab the wheel anyway. As a Gen 2 owner if all Autonomy + is giving me (at least initially) is the ability to change lanes, $50/month seems crazy for just that one function. Am I missing something?

I think what you described is ‘Highway assist’ which will remain free. I suppose another way of putting it is that without an autonomy+ subscription - expect the gen1 feature set (Via Rivian’s stack rather than mobileye)
Pondering, how much does Rivian save by no longer installing MobileEye & subscription on Gen2?

Lane keep on mapped versus unmapped highways, which seems like nickel and diming the customer. Basic highway lane keep everywhere with hands on the steering wheel should be free

Gen1 continues as is - it’s always been vanilla mobileye and will continue to be that.

For gen2 here’s the best source atm: https://rivian.com/support/article/what-is-the-rivian-autonomy-platform

In summary - come April 2026 unless you subscribe or purchase Autonomy+ you will loose the lane change on command feature we all have today. The next release will add UHF and a few other things that will be gatekeeped from that date above.
Very frustrated to LOSE lane change on command functionality that was a key consideration when purchasing my Gen2 R1T. Feels like a bait-and-switch.

Nope. It was crystal clear that feature was tied to Autonomy+. If you didn't understand that, it's on you.

Jared - No misunderstanding on my part. It was originally part of the Driver+ package I purchased with the vehicle last year. Appears they moved this existing functionality to the recently announced Autonomy+ platform, i.e. taking away functionality I enjoyed since the original purchase of the vehicle in Mar-2025.

It was a key consideration?? It is a minor part of the vehicle.

Enjoyed this functionality with my original Tesla model 3, so yes, was very happy to have the same functionality via Driver+ on my R1T Gen 2. 😊

I had LOTS of key considerations - LOL! Regardless, not cool to purchase the vehicle with this functionality, only to have it taken away and told I now have to pay extra 🙃

There clearly is a misunderstanding. Driver+ has always been free, meaning you did not purchase it. And Automatic Lane Change has never been part of Driver+.

With your vehicle purchase, you had a free trial of Autonomy+ for your Gen 2. That trial simply expired.

It wasn't 'taken away'. Your free trial expired and you have decided not to pay for the feature.

Umm…nope. I’ve had access to this feature via Driver+ for more than 9 months (included with the original purchase of the vehicle). Expiration of Autonomy+ is irrelevant.

Incorrwct. Driver+ included this functionality and I’ve been using it for the last 9 months (before Autonomy+ was even announced).
