What I'd recommend:
Low base price w/ no updates or other perks
Option for monthly/yearly subscription that includes those benefits mentioned above.
"Lifetime" subscription option that you pay once.

I suspect a lot of people would rather pay $100 or even $200 once vs. $3 per month for years.

IIRC, Plex implemented something like this.

I could see that being preferred but "lifetime" is a tough one for a gen 1 product. I feel like as the product, features, and additional "soft" offerings mature, a lifetime sub could be a viable option.

Apologies for being a bit vague on the install front, but I'm trying to maintain as much of a lead as I can before the Temu and AliExpress sellers start knocking it off. I will say it's being installed above the passenger footwell. Those of you with Commas should be pretty familiar with that area.

I didn't see the preorder email yesterday until 3 hours later and by the time I put my deposit down I was #2892 in line. What is that maybe 5% of total sales history for an unproven solution that is not as elegant as an OEM AA/CP solution? In three hours, on a forum few owners likely visit. This says alot!

I was able to preorder the day before he announced preordering was live. My order number is #2765.

I was just browsing the evplay.io website and forums and noticed that there was a preorder link. I figured I missed the announcement so I ordered.

I hope it is a valid order in the system!

To me it seems unlikely they'd copy something complicated and costly like your system for such a rare vehicle? Now, if Rivian pushed out 500,000+ vehicles per year that might get China's attention for a lot of aftermarket accessories. But producing 50K vehicles/year might just be too small a number to be profitable for them to mass produce something (which is the secret of their success, small volume manufacturing is something they're not interested in) other than mud flaps and similar simple items for.

So I popped open the passenger dash bottom yesterday and was peeking around in there. I have a guess but I can't say for sure lol
