I missed that when Rivian updated the warranty guide for the dual motors that they also defined an explicit "Adjustment Warranty" in the document that hadn't been there before. As always, the warranty only applies to vehicles sold after the warranty terms changed.

I'd be pissed if I had one of those Rivians that didn't track straight after repeated attempts. All of a sudden it hits 12k and too bad so sad.

I can understand it applying to paint and panel gaps and that should be much less than 12k miles tho. Some people here are complaining about extremely minor things. With that said alignment issues could be worrying if its a recurring problem.

Especially when it takes nearly 6 months for appointments in some locations...

If you're still having alignment/balance issues after a year or 12k miles... Might be time to take it somewhere else anyway. Retired or not, everyone's time has value.

Rivian was able to nearly completely solve my alignment issues after the second visit. I say nearly completely because the steering wheel now seems to occasionally be up to a degree off center depending on the situation. But the tires are wearing evenly now so it's not a big deal to me anymore.

I'm glad they solved it. I've been lucky enough to have zero issue in this regard. Mine has tracked perfectly since day one. Tires wear stupid fast, but even. I won't even make 20k but it is my fault as much as anything else as I certainly drive mine.

After a couple visits for mine, it improved but not 100%, same steering wheel issue.

However, once I switched to the AS+3, it's all perfect! I blame the tires. #CitizenScientist

This is pretty standard across all auto manufacturers.

It isn't really an issue. A panel isn't going to misalign after delivery. The rest is owner maintenance.

Usually each attempt gets another warranty period on that specific repair, but as long as the concern is in the system prior you should be ok.

It's possible for something to come out of alignment over time if it wasn't bolted together properly. Still though, 12,000 miles should be enough to discover that kind of an issue.

Makes sense for all but the body panel alignment issues. That's the majority of my issues and they haven't been annoying enough to take it in yet, though I did put in tickets for a few of them. To Rivian's credit, they wanted to get me scheduled ASAP, but I have a road trip coming up so I'm trying to put off scheduling the appointment for a bit. Guess this will force me to have all my gripes dealt with before I hit 12k miles (though as OP said, it shouldn't apply to any vehicles delivered prior to the warranty change). On that note, does anyone know how to see a copy of the warranty docs from the time you took delivery?

Rivian keeps a revision history on the document, but it lacks specificity in the changes. Should mean it's easy to figure out if you happen to have the most applicable one.

Looks like they still have the pdf for revision 1 active too. https://assets.rivian.com/2md5qhoea...-limited-warranty-guide-us-en-us-20211222.pdf

I'd simply cut losses and dump it and buy something else. This brand is losing my interest with things like this.

This is going to overload the service centers even more for all the people like me that figured we would let them catch up with more major things, knowing they can fix my stuff on this list at a later date with service gets caught up.

Well.....I guess they are OK publishing a list of all their most common problems and making sure people know if thry are concerned with this normal Rivian QA/QC list....you better get it fixed asap. Plan ahead....some service centers take a quarter just to get you parked in the lot at the service center and in line.
