Adjust tailgate cables?

just commenting that my Gen2 T built 11/24 has the same issue - driver side tailgate cable has some play but when putting any weight, both cables get tout...I am going to leave this out of service request based on all the above comments.

I'd forgotten all about this thread. Had a mobile tech out a few months ago and mentioned it to him. He indicated this is "normal" and is because of the piston pushing a bit on the driver's side. Whether that's true or not, I have no idea. But that's what he said, LOL.

Have any of you found a correction to this issue yet?

I have a new 2025 R1T with the same issue. It looks like the strut is limiting the full extension. Seems like it would be an easy adjustment or part replacement. Hoping someone has found a solution.
