For those that have been off road on what you might consider a really dry dusty road, the type that fills the bed with lots of dust, I'm curious to know if you're getting dust inside the cab? Maybe from opening/closing the doors or other reasons? Do you see dust filling the door cavities?

Reason I ask, my 2019 Ram pulls in more dust in the cab than any truck I've ever owned, and I HATE that part about it.

I have the Kids voice profiles set up on my home Alexa and it knows who is talking. In the truck, it will say "I'm sorry [kids name] I can't do that" or something to that effect when they ask for things. So it definitely knows who is talking, but the actions won't be different based on that because the directed action needs to be location specific i.e. "Alexa set the drivers seat heat to medium"

Are the seat controls limited to heat? Or can you turn on seat ventilation with alexa?

The manual doesn't say, and I haven't tried. I know the seat and steering wheel heat work though.

Finally, third time's the charm for delivery! Got it delivered by the Bellevue Service Manager yesterday - she is fantastic.

First impressions/experiences:
-- truck is awesome, fit and finish are perfect inside and out
-- back seat space is a little less than I remembered, on par with my old Ridgeline... but gonna be hard to stuff our three kids and my fat Labrador in the back of the R1T (which I could do in the Ridgeline)
-- five hours into ownership, at a stop light I was challenged to a drag race by a young dude in a modified Cadillac CTS V (windows rolled down...'let's see if that thing is as fast as they say it is'). I normally don't do that sort of thing, but... I might have been a little curious and might have obliged. I was pulling on him when I let off of the accelerator at 45mph... crazy! Hoping drag race challenges aren't a regular part of daily driving in the R1T.

Nope... they didn't have any locally that matched my specs - so they had to poach one from an SC in California. Not sure of what downstream impact that might have had, but I imagine it will get fixed quickly.

I will say that I heard my mishap did create a wave back at the factory and it was a learning opportunity for them. They were super gracious and I can say that my temporary delay was adequately addressed to my satisfaction.

Sorry -- yeah, probably buried elsewhere! On the second delivery attempt, the delivery team drove up to my house with a truck that was technically mine based on the VIN -- but was El Cap instead of Launch Green. They went back to the service center and scrambled to figure out what happened. I didn't get all of the details on how that slipped through their inspection processes, but know that people at the factory in Illinois were working on it immediately after we discovered the issue. I think they went through and physically checked every current VIN against the stated paint color... don't know what they uncovered (and probably never will!). In the end, they got me a Launch Green truck with a different VIN.

One benefit of using Rivian's in-house financing and insurance is that they were able to fix everything (seemingly) immediately without any additional work from me / having to deal with external vendors...

Fwiw, I'm very happy with the ventilation seats. They feel actively cooling versus just a fan. Not as cold as ford's but better than Subaru.

I'm disappointed to hear about the backseat room. I'm curious how it compares to my 2016 MDX.
