Picked up my truck Saturday at the Phoenix Service Center. It took a little longer than expected because the check I mailed three weeks prior got lost in space. My CU was nearby and we were able to replace it without any difficulty. The staff at the Center were terrific. I did not detect any problems or issues with the truck though I suspect I'm less rigorous than most.

Initial observations on just a couple of drives - the accelerator pedal felt very heavy compared to my Model Y. I suspect reflexes will take over shortly and I won't notice it. I set regen to max and it seemed about the same as the Tesla. By yesterday I was stopping mostly without brakes. Highway driving was very comfortable. I used cruise and lane keepng. I found that the R1 kept very centered and didn't fight me like my wife's Highlander does.

I was able to park it in the garage without difficulty and the door opener programmed on first try.

Still haven't figured out how to make a phone call but I haven't installed the Alexa app yet.

Heavy as in physically, or as in less responsive compared to Tesla's near-immediate power delivery?

I would say less responsive than my Tesla MY but by design. Any time I applied force to the "go" pedal the vehicle did just that. With Rivian I think there's a bit more modulation allowed so you're not going to launch of the line unless you try.

Most manufacturers map the throttle in a bit of an inverse exponential curve. So at 50% pedal travel, you're applying like 80% of the max power. This is done to make cars feel quicker. Rivian seems to have a very linear pedal mapping, so 50% pedal = 50% power. Once you get used to it, I'm sure it'll be fine. But yes, you'll have to just give it more go-pedal overall.

It actually feels like the pedal has more resistance but it may just how the brain is interpreting the vehicle response. I haven't really stomped on the (can you say it still?) gas yet. I did drive a bit this morning and the feeling is less today. Added some pictures. Looks like 3 different trucks depending on the light.

FCB crest? The way they're going, at least they share one thing with Rivian, which is all their competitors warning that they're going to run out of money ?.

JK though, I'm excited to see how this season pans out. What's the one on the right?
