Rivian is running on all cylinders. Despite the newness of the electric vehicle company, it has quickly garnered a strong fan following and is scheduled to grow beyond its two-model lineup this year. In addition to product, the company is moving forward with plans to establish an East Coast operations hub in Atlanta, Georgia, and a second factory an hour outside the city.

Despite its newness, Rivian is one of America's Greatest Companies 2025 as determined by Newsweek based on a competitive analysis of comprehensive reviews that were supported by third-party data. Rivian's CEO, RJ Scaringe, was named Newsweek's World's Greatest Auto Disruptor Executive of the Year in 2024.

"We've always approached growth with a long-term view, focusing on vertical integration, strong financial discipline and strategic growth," Rivian's chief people officer Scott Griffin told Newsweek.

The company's R2 and R3 SUVs are next up in the product development cycle. "With R2 and R3, we're expanding our brand story in a way that makes adventure more accessible, without compromising the design, performance, and technology that define Rivian. These vehicles are a major step forward in our engineering evolution: built on a new midsize platform that enables more efficiency, faster production, and lower cost, while still delivering the capability and versatility people expect from us," Griffin said.

Not sure why the cylinder analogy....author must of been around Porsche too long with their Turbo EV's 😆

Either way, good press for them!
That’s Newsweek for you, and journalism in general. Not what it used to be.

Running on all cylinders is a common metaphor most people know, it's car related, and they are aiming for a general audience. Don't forget there is still a large portion of the population who know absolutely nothing about EVs. We still have people who think you need to switch the battery every 2 years.

A few more positive articles like this one that get the attention of our leaders in Washington DC will wind up motivating them to ramp up and start to fire on all cylinders in the effort to strangle EVs.

Most definitely! Now is not the time for the EV market to run out of gas.

I'm currently driving a Cayenne from Enterprise. It made me miss my R1S a lot. I liked my R1 before this but didnt realise how much. Rivian makes a very unique product and it suits me well. Glad they are getting recognition. Unfortunately, the general public still doesnt know what Rivian is. Hope the R2 changes that.

Couldn't agree more. Most people dismiss Rivians as being too expensive, but in the case of the R1S, a seven seater supercar that can offroad with the best of them and can recharge for less than the cost of refilling a tank of gas in a Honda Civic (if charging at home) is a very unique proposition with no real competitor, and well worth price IMO Every time I take my Rivian in for service, I almost immediately can't wait to get it back as nothing available in Enterprise really compares.

I was under the impression the most of what gets posted to Newsweek's site was like what Forbes has become - mostly work-for-hire opinion writers. Very little actual staff journalists, if any...

Not likely. So long as fossil fuel giants continue to line their pockets, fund campaigns and misinformation. The only counter are votes, until that no longer matters.

Rivians have 2, 3 or 4 cylindrical electric motors. 🤡

In the 80s Newsweek was the go-to rag for political junkies. Now, like others, no better than tabloid sites like Insider—and generally the same pool of remote freelance writers who tap into AI for sake of speed and search engine optimization.

Why? What makes you say this statement?

Not questioning the validity of the comment; rather, just curious since they are very different in every way (apples to oranges kind of comparison, both are fruits - just as both are SUVs)
