Roof damage and driver side 2nd row door damage suggests they must have hit the branches on that tree on the driver side with quite some force… vehicle seems to have no warning lights on the dash… so many oddities about this one… maybe driver didn’t pay attention for a moment and ran off the trail suddenly, through the tree side and then came to a stop at the rocks and tree stump, which smacked the fender and driver side front wheel off.Very impressive that it was able to drive off with the spare on. I have so many questions. How did it get so far of the trail and why did the air bags not deploy.
I suspect they were coming at each other and at least one was going too fast. That trail is narrow and very busy on weekends, you have to stop and pull over for on coming traffic often. From the location, the Rivian was headed to the end of the trail, and the side by side was returning.Somewhere in the comments it was a reported that the driver panicked and so did the side by side. Not sure if it was an oncoming incident or two separate incidents in the same place but the former would explain what happened. Speed likely a factor by one or both.
It looks like the actual impacts were too light to cause airbag deployment. You don't want airbags going off unless you actually need them.Very impressive that it was able to drive off with the spare on. I have so many questions. While it may seem innocuous I've noticed that the inability to say the name of the company or the vehicle properly is a pretty good indicator that they are anti-EV.Stopped watching at 4:50
Accidents are what [expensive] insurance is for. Oh wait, Insurance Co. X doesn't cover off-road use? That's what half-truths are for. /sWTF .... so adventurous. That should buff right out.
Depends on your insurance policy and how helpful the insurance agent/adjuster wants to be. Most policies have intentionally vague language, defining what is on-road use.As a Rivian driver for whom off-roading means a well-maintained gravel road, I have a stupid question...Does insurance cover this kind of damage? Do you need a separate (expensive) endorsement if you're going off road?
With a thumbnail image like that and misidentification of model name? I won't even bother.Stopped watching at 4:50
I smacked a fender onto a tree many years ago on a muddy Arizona trail, and my insurance covered it.As a Rivian driver for whom off-roading means a well-maintained gravel road, I have a stupid question...Does insurance cover this kind of damage? I flew into Phoenix years ago every week for 9 months and rented a car from Avis, and on every single rental I had to acknowledge that I was not permitted to take my rental on Schnebly Hill Road in Sedona, even when they gave me a Tahoe or (just one time) an Excursion.
Someone didn’t take the Off Road Course taught by the Driving Company at Hollister Hills ,Very impressive that it was able to drive off with the spare on. I have so many questions. How did it get so far of the trail and why did the air bags not deploy.
