Rivian Nation - it's here!

We started working on this last year and it's taken time to get the manufacturing tooled and rolling. I am proud to say these are IN-STOCK! I'll load a few different handguns and post photos soon, but I didn't want to wait for that to list it. And if you order one, I'd welcome getting your photos showing whatever handguns you've fit as well.

Have a look gang - it was a thoughtful process to design something that truly locked to the vehicle, yet remained accessible. Check it out here:

EVSportline,

This is exciting. In another thread regarding a similar product, we all learned that the Rivian software identifies a "drawer" different than the "camp speaker". The difference in behavior of the software is that the camp speaker unlocks when in park, but the drawer requires manually unlocking from the connect menu in the infotainment system. Do you know if Rivian's software identifies this as a drawer or a speaker? Hopefully, it treats it the same way as the speaker. Having to manually unlock using the software and then unlock using the physical key will dimmish its usefulness.

Ours does not use the software at all. Because if anyone has the Rivian key / access to drive, they can simply unlock the camp speaker. This is why we added the optional cable lock. With the cable installed, you cannot unlock our box nor remove it from the vehicle without our lock key.

Where/What are you attaching the cable to on the truck?

Sorry, I'm still a little confused. You mentioned in an early post that it does not slide forward when you hit the brakes. In addition, the photos show the Rivian patented connector at the back of the unit that I assumed snaps into the speaker tray. My experience is that connector tells the Rivian software whether it's a speaker or a drawer and controls its behavior. Can you confirm whether the unit snaps into the tray using the connector?

Our box mechanically actuates the lock Rivian fingers and secures into the camp speaker port. Doesn’t require electrical connection or any interaction with the screen. It’s not “locked”, it can be disengaged by pulling it out. Just the same as the camp speaker when it’s not “locked”. Works exactly the same. Go unlock your camp speaker and pull it out / push it in. It’s not “locked” until you toggle the lock…which just prohibits the mechanism from disengaging.

By the way it is "drawer".

Looks like a nice safe box design, the cable is a turn off aesthetically.
Cable is 100% optional. If you don’t like it, don’t install it ??

But honestly, unless you’re up under the dash taking photos of it, the cable is not really visible once installed and tucked in.
