I’m jealous! I wish I could do that with my R1T. Looks great!

Great idea!

I had a Honda Element years ago and it was perfect for our dogs because the rear seats could either be removed or flipped up on the sides in just a few minutes. We threw a couple dog beds in there and they were traveling in style.

I did too! A '08 ES. Boring AF to drive but great little multi-purpose box of a vehicle. Went off-road with it too in Nevada on all-seasons. It took me as far as when ground clearance and traction wouldn't allow.

They sure were! Underpowered and it was like a barn in the wind, but it is still one of my favorite vehicles ever.

I looked around everywhere if anyone did this but couldn't find anything so ended up just going for it.. it was super easy just a single socket wrench and the seats came out super easy. 2 cables with quick connects unplugged and they stuff back down under the carpet and the hardest part of the whole thing really was just lifting them out of the truck. I have driven about 800 miles with them out already and no warnings, no errors, nothing. I put am outdoor rug in the back that kinda fits and is perfect for the dogs and goes over the bolts and bits.. I imagine could easily find a proper carpet to cover things if I wanted it to look a bit better. .

We have no kids but 3 dogs and after having the R1S for a month or so we always had that middle seat folded down before I took them out, and it always felt a bit high and was hard for the dogs to jump into. With that middle row out it dramatically changes the feeling inside the vehicle, it feels almost like a cargo van or a minivan so much room, and it a dream for loading stuff in and out as I do transport lots of random stuff every single day. And not that we ever have had any people in the back now the middle seat is gone i can imagine if we had kids or even adults riding back there it would be a whole better experience. I still cant figure out why they did half my vehicle in one interior and the other half another ( look at the back armrests ) but thats a story for another day.

When removing the seats, does it appear possible to remove the middle section and leave seats on either side?

Serious question. Could you..... Install two front seats in the middle seat location and do a captains chair setup for the middle row? Even if the harness doesn't support the heat/cool option. The seat adjustments would still need to work though.

Is one side forest green? I think this was a common R1S error in the beginning, pretty funny

This is what I imagined and was hoping for from the title

Do the seat bottoms come out as one piece? Or maybe 1/3 and 2/3?

This is a sick idea, love it. I was having the same idea about an EV9 if I had bought one but just removing one of the captains chairs.

I am curious based on your work would it be possible to remove just half of the back seat, or is it connected?

Glad to hear R1S does not complain about the seats being unplugged.
I think I am going to do 2nd and 3rd row and try to make storage for gear and full size spare under sleeping platform.
Just removed 2nd row

There is ground wire connecting the 2 half’s but looks like you could keep big half or small half
