Also for Gen 1 and 2 the drivers screen now has 3 options, one of which changes the 3d vehicle visualization to a navigation map. Unclear is if this removes the ability to change just the far left panels, and thus removing the tire pressure guages card entirely, or if there's another button that alters the background.




Update so far to include Digital wallet key functionality (Gen 2 only due to UWB hardware)

While the truck is set to the metric system, convert the speed limit signs to kph. I like to drive over 100 (kph) on highways

I was about to post my general disappointment with the update as digital key, is a grand nothing-burger to me. Not really though, I'd more likely just grumble under my breath and not post anything as I wouldn't want to rain on others parades.

Then I kept scrolling and oh heeelll yes to more customization to the driver display!! The current setup showing me what the car thinks it around me is a waste of valuable real estate, that I would much rather put towards anything else. So this is a very welcome improvement!

And still no departure charging. Do they not get how important this is for an EV???
The importance of that is debatable. Just charge to 80% everyday. Charge to 90 or 100% when needed. The batteries will hold up fine. Some people think L2 departure charging warms the battery for better range, but it really doesn't from my experience in real Winter. Scheduled climate, available in the Rivian phone app, actually will pre-heat the battery from wall power if you want absolute best possible range, but that's probably only completely necessary if you are driving 90-100% of the battery in a day.

I see now looking at his post history, the guy has posted about this departure charging thing now multiple times every time there is a software update. It is clearly important to him.
