That's because they are focusing on Gen 2. Us lowley Gen 1 owners better get used to this...

Driver Profile Enhancements
Your driver profile now links to your media streaming accounts, so when the vehicle recognizes your driver profile at the start of a drive, the vehicle automatically loads your media streaming accounts. Supported apps include Apple Music, Audible, Spotify, TIDAL, and TuneIn.

Your driver profile also saves your media, climate, driver assistance, and units of measurement settings. Climate settings include vent positions, vent presets, and Auto mode status.

I'm still waiting for this to follow me between vehicles too.

R1Ts are almost at that 3rd owner stage where they aren't afraid of doing permanent modifications... Hoping the aftermarket agrees, though the complexity of some of the things I have looked into are going to be daunting for DIYers.

That will be a bummer....I switched to Apple Music for the Dolby Atmos and now with the random stops and having to restart playing almost everytime I get in truck...kinda stinks...

I have done that like 5 times....works for a while....then gone again.

Yesterday only the Left side garage door would show up when approaching, totally lost the Right side garage door option which is the one I used every day. However, it would show up if I manually selected it via the Garage. I did a soft reset, left and right outer buttons, that brought it back. Just FYI in case you haven't tried it yet.

Thanks! I have reset a couple times and each time it worked for a while....and eventually lost them again. Hoping the new release makes it just work again.

Opal has also been having trouble with the proximity garage door openers. They have been coming and going since the last update. We have even had them remain on the driver screen after leaving the area.

A soft infoscreen reset has brought them back in line, but the next day they mess up again.

My perspective as a life long software developer is that:

1) This may be one of those "iceberg" updates where a relatively small amount of visible change sits on top of a large invisible one. Changing the way preferences are stored may have required a re-design of some fundamental parts of the software. Hopefully this redesign sets the table for additional enhancements like more things being preference based, traveling profiles, etc.

2) Things like SXM and casting may not be limited by Rivian development capacity. These sort of things require contracts to be negotiated and technical integration work may need to be done on the provider side as well. The delay may be out of the software team's hands.
