So technically 2mph to 60 as they were doing a rolling start it seemed like but in general from the time the weight transferred started happening right before acceleration occurred it was about 3.48 seconds to 60. I'd add on maybe a few 100ths for that 2mph roll and another few 100ths for that weight transfer if you are including that (it seemed like suspension was in super height mode so could be better when in Aero/Kneel mode) and you have 4 seconds with some A/Ts and people which is insanely impressive.

Just continuing the conversation @SeaGeo and I were having.

It will be interesting to see if Rivian publishes the perform difference between the wheels.

Thanks for grabbing the data off the video!

Best times are also usually turned with the batteries at a high SOC. If they were flailing this vehicle around the track for a while before the clip, the time could be less than optimal.

I always assume published numbers for stats such as these are measured under ideal conditions, otherwise you would further optimize to get a better number. The fact that they hit 0-60 in ~3.5 casually without even trying to optimize the track surface, tires, suspension, battery, vehicle weight, etc... is amazing. The only car I've rode in that can do that had nitrous hooked up and I've never been in a truck that quick. Nice breakdown @kanundrum.

Yea the fact that all those factors are working against it, albeit at 2mph and not from a dead stop its pretty crazy as well! Thanks! My fun daily can do 0 to 60 in 3.8 but the fact that this is a truck is insane.

Very cool! I'd caution against anyone taking this too seriously at the tenth-second resolution (zomg they lied about the 3-second 0-60!). In addition to the tires and heavy passenger load, you never know if editing software added or dropped a few frames, if he was actually doing a full launch, if it was perfectly level, etc. etc. etc.

What we do know is that it's damn fast!

My 120hp diesel Land Rover will feel even more glacial.

i sometimes feel like this forum and the subreddit are just mirrors of each other. Not that I'm complaining. This is an excellent video. Thanks Kanundrum!

Haha i found only a few people actually post on both so spread the wealth of knowledge until we get some more stuff from Rivian. As I mentioned a few months back their website is dated like crazy and is due for a huge overhaul. I am assuming their 3.0 Interface (right now on 2.3.1 from a configuration perspective) will be a big change and include all the latest things like link to the apps, finance etc.

The speedometer seems to have noticeable lag at times - I think actual elapsed time will probably be less than indicated.

I think DuckTruck has also suggested that drive modes control more than just the suspension height and damping. Sport mode (or whatever is the “performance” setting for pavement) will probably give optimized launches via traction control and power application for the best 0-60 smiles. This thing is going to be a rocket.

I wish it showed every digit like Tesla’s do. I always find that to be cool.
