12 v in dash

Ive seen different posts. Do current r1s have dash 12 v plugs? I power a radar detector through one and so have a use for it. Also is the frunk one gone? Thanks

Yes, both are gone. I got a transition truck in March (Feb 2023 build) that has the frunk 12v, but not one in the dash/center console. Really annoying.

You can easily unplug the detector when not using it.

I filed a service ticket. I was expecting this to be there and the fact that it's not when literally every other car on the road has it is unacceptable, especially given there was no communication, no notice, nothing.

I would encourage everyone here who is upset about this decision to file a service ticket, call up service, and ask that it be escalated. The more voices and complaints they get, the more likely they are to offer a solution, at least this is what service tells me.

Yep. I just bought one of THESE for less than $13, and now I have a 12V outlet under the dash. (Not neatly mounted like WattTruckMatt's frunk outlet, but maybe that's next. Or maybe I'll just leave it stuffed behind the dash. At least I now have options...)

Bought this instead of the 12v cig adapter. The USB would fit nicely underneath the steering wheel. You can hide the wire inside the panel underneath.

Thanks i ended up hardwiring. Actually was easy thanks for help from forum. Went super well except how hard i had to pull on trim cover

You hardwired a 12v plug in under the dash? How? What forum post(s) or video(s) did you look at to do it? I'm very much interested in doing this as well.
