It already works as you need it to, it sounds like you were messing with the rear screen instead of just turning it off from the main screen up front. My truck's in service now but I'm almost positive it remembers the last state. Not sure if it defaults to "rear off", only under certain...
1) Since the whole system runs off a main computer I'm guessing the only two states are on/off and nothing in between. Similar to Telsa except they've had a few years to push software updates to help keep the vehicle in its sleep state.
2) I may not be understanding what you're saying but can't...
Truck's going into service on Tuesday to address my first ticket from delivery day so I'll see what they say but I've noticed those plastic panels have a lot of flex to the touch. In my case anyway its probably the noise I hear over certain bumps, but still a bit annoying to have such a cheap...
I've been waiting for this. From driving a Tesla I've become accustomed to the SOC vs miles because the miles estimate was mostly useless.
EDIT: To add clarity, not to say that Rivian's implementation is useless, far from it actually. It's just nice to not have to go to a new screen in the...
I would be with you all the way except that they ok'd a price hike on all existing reservation holders and were shamed so badly they almost immediately walked it back. So by comparison only impacting X% of the user base in MP orders vs. 100% of all orders is an improvement for them.
Agree with you. 135 kWh packs are for premium vehicles and will continue to be rare for a few years. The price increase of Rivian further underscores this. Even the EQS which is coming from a premium brand who could charge whatever they want is still around 108k kWh. There will continue to be...
Maybe I'm too worried about mine but I'm pretty careful every time I use it. It's stuttered a bit in the past but hasn't jammed and I've also used graphite dry lubricant. I was showing it to a friend the other day and I'd saw some debris that must have fallen on the cover during the drive over...
Spoiler: The following opinion is not in the best interest of the community
They dropped the Explore trim without much issue and I'd wager that lower intro price was similarly attractive as the MP to those who ordered. If they were to cancel MP, or delay it for another year to incentivize...
I did the passenger windows and rear with 70% XPEL. I was nervous to do the front tint since I wear polarized Rx sunglasses and notice I can see a bit of a "pattern" on the passenger windows. Not a huge deal, but something I'd probably notice if the windsheild were tinted. I can't say for sure...
I'm happy the sentiment has changed, I remember in plenty of threads some time ago it was a take it or leave it attitude. There was no way to improve consumption without sacrificing features. Clearly based on the release notes that's not been the case and I hope it continues to improve. But more...
I have more confidence in a molded grab handle built into the A pillar lasting the test of time than I do the ones attached on the trim above the door.
Post price hike I was skeptical of the Explorer trim and Max Pack making it long term because of the money that would be flying out the door at each sale. I think they could split the difference between keeping the Max pack and not producing the trim at all by just putting in another 6-12 month...
I'm not sure configuration matters much anymore since the Adventure trim is pretty much the only one offered. Unless you count having a broken powered tonneau completely removed I'm not sure I've seen any pictures posted of a true off the line manual tonneau or no tonnea option. Wheel...
I’m rooting for Rivian but moves like this really make me think the customer experience leadership is for show. Who would approve removing a trim option on the site before contacting at least the reservation holders first?
Would be surprised if Explore begins delivery much earlier than the end of '23. With Adv R1Ts and Launch/Adventure R1Ss there's more demand than production capacity for 2023. I'm not an expert in the space but I'd imagine focusing on Launch/Adv trim is more efficient and better for the bottom line.
I'm watching the Brooklyn service center stories as I near the my first service appointment in early Sept. Luckily in my case I'm close enough to drive so this specific hurdle won't be a concern.
I would say less responsive than my Tesla MY but by design. Any time I applied force to the "go" pedal the vehicle did just that. With Rivian I think there's a bit more modulation allowed so you're not going to launch of the line unless you try.
