Curious if anybody knows if that heated area is on a separate fuse than the camera, or if it could be disabled somehow through wiring. Surely that wouldn’t be 100w of continuous power, but it may be close
lol what does this even mean? Long start up times? Have you been in any other EV? Do you think that a Tesla has a boot sequence where you can’t drive the car?
Why even buy the platinum over a lariat? What other options besides those that were deleted do you get? Heated steering wheel is a dealbreaker for me and I live in SC. That’s absurd to not have that option
Yes, but some people assume that PPF is indestructible. I strongly think if you're going to PPF then you should do the full vehicle; it looks so cheap when there's a visible line in the middle of the hood. If it wasn't $5k+ I'd be getting mine stealth wrapped personally, but there's no value...
If your power is out you probably are not going to live like your power is on, assuming your vehicle is powering it. I would set up maybe 1 A/C unit, 1 fridge, and my router / modem. We use about 45kwh / day averaged over 12 months, in a large house with 3 A/Cs and 2 EV's :CWL:
This is assuming a PPF'd car looks pristine, which is not always the case. A PPF'd panel that is dented / torn / or has visible edges looks way worse than a rock chip IMO
I think it's definitely fixable via an OTA update; they would be able to reprogram which modules are active during 'sleep', etc. And yea, you can plug in at home but probably not at an airport.
No, they've done nothing ultimately. People are seeing improved numbers since winter is ending and vampire drain seems to be much worse in colder weather.
That does sound useful. I've still never had a use case to get in my R1T and put something in the navigation. I never did it with my Tesla either. 100% of the time I open Google Maps on my phone and share it with the vehicle, 0 issues, ever. You can even share a random pin on the map, so you...
Has anybody tried to unplug the camera / heating element from behind the rear view mirror? I saw previously that it was staying heated even when the truck was 'sleeping', wondering if we can disable it.
