This is how I've been operating as well. Make changes to the configurator as soon as you are sure of wanting something, so that Rivian has your preferences up to date before they decide to lock your config in.

On the flip side, if the guide was busy coordinating even more deliveries that bodes well for the company and for us. Still, sucks this happened to OP. Agree with others that as disappointing as it is, it sounds like they’re trying to make it right. Hope you get a working R1T soon.

That's a pretty good idea. For other phones, I also like @Khaneric's suggestion of 3d printing custom mats - you could do some that have ridges to keep phones in the optimal zone.
