Definitely been thinking about this - Limestone and Glacier White for me.
I would also consider a FE interior, which would make me lean towards GW for an exterior to keep costs down.
I don't think I'd be flexible on my wheel choice, unless they have wheels available in the gear shop by the...
I wouldn't count on it 100% - they could get away with sending an email at the end of May to all 2022 customers outlining precisely what the variables will be (e.g. we're focusing on building trucks with the off-road package in June/July, or we are out of the 20" darks, or we are only producing...
Welcome to the forums!
From Rivian's recent email update:
For preorder holders with a delivery window in 2022, we will be reaching out in late May to gauge your preferences and help further inform our build combinations. If you’re flexible on certain options, you may be able to take delivery...
You're right - if you click through most of the options using the search link below you'll see that they are advertised as 'top coats', meaning that they will need some sort of bright chrome base to achieve the advertised look. I think the machined surface of the regular brights would qualify...
I think that's a good combo - FE is much lighter than FG, so there is enough tonal contrast for it not to look like a greenwash. Plus that FE wood trim belongs in a double Forest!
Thanks for sharing, super helpful. I added a 'transparent' filter to your second link, which pulls up all the black top coats that are transparent/translucent: https://www.prismaticpowders.com/shop/powder-coating-colors?color=pris_black&finishes=pris_finish_transparent
I like the midnight...
Close-up photos of the dark 20"s convinced me that a complete blackout is not what I want. Rivian seems to have just added an opaque dark gloss coat to the existing bright 20"s. I really like how the dark 20"s look because of that slight difference in shade between the previously bright parts...
Mine went back too! Of note is that it is indeed the pre 3/1 configuration, not just old pricing for your current config. I changed color and added a spare tire after 3/1, and I have to change those back again.
I get that - I have a Lexus and they do allow third party buyouts. What I don’t fully understand is how the buyout process fits in to the Rivian trade-in and purchase process. At some point I will have to loop in each party to the others’ process, and it’s just unclear to me when to do what...
Thank you for starting this thread. Might I also add, if there are folks who traded in a leased vehicle it would be great to hear your experience as well. I can't imagine there are more than a handful who did that given how quickly folks went from zero guide contact to R1T in driveway. Hoping...
A little bit of a digression, I apologize, but wasn't the R1S upped to 202" in length at some point last year? I see that it's back to 200.8" now. Maybe it's something as simple as including/excluding the tow hooks in the measurement?
I have a grand idea for a RivianForums.com April 1 prank: we should all email CS asking about for suggestions for phone mounts that work the best with Rivian so that we can run Carplay/Android Auto.
Consider this my early April 1 entry. Besides, I'm sure a handful of people hit the Ignore Thread button reall fast based on the title and I wouldn't blame them :D
