  1. ? First non-Rivian employee delivery - to owner in NYC!! [Updated with Owner's Q&A, Info, Feedback]

The tonneau cover looks like a problem waiting to happen. Of course that is complete speculation on my part, but I just lack the confidence that thing is built to last. I suppose time will tell. Outside of that, the truck looks great.
  2. Towing impact videos

I'm not really a fan of the TFL channel per se. I just posted these videos as they were the first I had seen regarding towing and range.
  3. Towing impact videos

Not sure if anyone's posted this yet. another video....
  4. New Member "hello" and shameless ask

No offense to OP but I'm not sure I'd take that trade even if the Bronco was just for the reservation.
  5. ? Rivian Sends Delivery Window E-Mail. What’s Your Dates? => Vote in Poll!

RT1: FG with FE interior (may change to Launch green with black interior or Blue with Ocean coast, may not). Located in South Carolina. Reserved Nov 2018 I received the email as well. Mine says "Your Launch Edition R1T delivery window is now March - April 2022." Color me cynical but I am not...
  6. Rivian's electric van for Amazon raises battery power doubts - The Information

Nikola and Lordstown are terrible examples to insinuate a hit job. From all accounts they were both closer to organized snake oil salesmen than any kind of real company with any chance of any meaningful production. While Hindenburg Research may have had financial motivation to "sound the alarm"...
  7. Rivian hit with Gender Discrimination Lawsuit by ex-sales and marketing head, Laura Schwab

There are opinion pieces, misleading (out of context or leaving out facts) stories and just a recounting of known facts about something. Is there anything that the "media" (across the political spectrum) reported about this story that isn't just a mere recounting of what's going on and being...
  8. Rivian IPO roadshow video(s) & presentation

I live in one of those states. Wonder what the actual impact of this is on our chances of delivery when Rivian does start getting LE reservations out. I already believe due to the slow roll out we wouldn't get our LE RT1 (reserved Nov 2018) for at least another year anyway.
  9. New Delivery Delay Confirmed - My R1T Delivery Pushed From October to end of February, 2022.

This is so bungled I canceled out of the DSP because of how* Rivian handled the situation, not because they were in one. Obviously my backing out doesn't mean anything to the overall picture. Which is fine as it's not being done out of spite or as a "punishment". I simply have real world...
  10. Youtubers discuss delay

Sorry if this has been posted already. Nothing really new here, just noting that the lack of communication and they all seem resigned to a much longer wait than anticipated.
  11. 180 R1T produced / 156 R1T delivered as of Oct 31 -- per Updated Rivian S1 [11/1]

If that is the case and there are say 10k-15k LE (no relations) orders, then it is feasible they would be be able to make that. Of course that assumes LE is given priority in release and the LE numbers aren't much higher.
  12. 180 R1T produced / 156 R1T delivered as of Oct 31 -- per Updated Rivian S1 [11/1]

"I'm comfortable thinking that they will have the production line capable of running more than 25K in 2022. I'm just not sure about supply chain and labor constraints." My assumption is all inclusive of any and all reasons Rivian would not be able to meet their stated goals. Be it supply chain...
  13. 180 R1T produced / 156 R1T delivered as of Oct 31 -- per Updated Rivian S1 [11/1]

On my cursory read of the filing, I thought I read 55k+. Perhaps I need to go back and read it again. But for this moment, let's assume it is 55k. Then yes, I do not think they will have produced over 16-17k vehicles by the end of 2022. I could be wrong, it might be 20k, but I wouldn't consider...
  14. 180 R1T produced / 156 R1T delivered as of Oct 31 -- per Updated Rivian S1 [11/1]

I've been saying 2023-2024 since June. Rivian's batting average speaks for itself. If I had to venture a guess I'd say less than 30% of all LE holders will have their LE RT1 by the end of 2022 and Rivian will not fill the back log of the previously mentioned 55k until mid-late 2024. Either you...
  15. Today is the day!?!?!?

I am of the mind If there was no imminent IPO Rivian might have been more upfront. It seems the priority is the IPO. What does that mean for the reservation holders? I do not have that answer. Probably more poor/vague communication and portraying any small progress as meaningful movement toward...
  16. Guide Contacts & Counting by Thanksgiving?? Can they do it??

I reserved in Nov 2018, but not the max pack. I am becoming fairly confident I will not receive my RT1 in 2022 either. If I am wrong I would happily eat crow. In fact I do not think the majority of LE holders will. Regardless of why, Rivian is much further behind then I think any one of us...
  17. Snazzy Labs: I Drove the Cybertruck Killer - Rivian R1T First Look Review

I've been saying all summer they would not get the pre-orders done until 2022-2023. If it was evident to me surely others picked up on this as well. I just wish Rivian could've/would've communicated it better. They were terrible at setting delivery expectations and worse, they were self...
  18. Rivian Files For IPO Valued at $80 Billion! UPDATE: S-1 Filed

I was worried they would do a IPO before delivering trucks in any meaningful amounts. If that were to happen somehow it would make me question their priorities. If they do release vehicles in September and the initial reviews are as good as we all hope then I would probably invest within the...

  20. Clear Look at Canyon Red Rivian R1T

Nice, I think it's either silver or red with black wheels for me. I was going Rivian blue, wife ordered the suv in blue so these are my other two options.
