  1. RJ Scaringe: first Rivian R1T deliveries delayed from July 2021 until September

If you think this is crazy, try running a fine dining restaurant, this is nothing compared to how some people behave when their food is not the right temp, or there's not enough ice in the glass, or you are out of a hard to source, seasonal product....lol. Rvian's issue is lack of proactive...
  2. Real Rivian Photos & Videos

The green looks great in these photos and the wheels look great with it.
  3. RJ Scaringe: first Rivian R1T deliveries delayed from July 2021 until September

I can't speak to the reliability of the first gen raptors as I have never owned one, so I could only report hearsay. What I do know is ours has been trouble free for the most part, I do have a squeak, I think its in the leaf spring. But drive-ability and comfort have been great. Mine only has...
  4. Letter from RJ coming at noon...

I think we all want a 'good faith' time frame, even if it spans months, from Rivian, of when we might expect our respective vehicles (particularly speaking about LE reservation holders). Many posters on this forum have said they could understand the delays but did not appreciate the lack of...
  5. RJ Scaringe: first Rivian R1T deliveries delayed from July 2021 until September

I love our 2018 Raptor. It's been a solid vehicle. Though it's great, that is the vehicle the RT1 is supposed to replace. We want to get away from ICE vehicles for several reasons. If you do go that route I am sure you will enjoy it.
  6. RJ Scaringe: first Rivian R1T deliveries delayed from July 2021 until September

I've been saying they weren't ready since June. It seemed obvious to me. If Rivian is truly close to releasing trucks, that's one thing, even with the September change. However, I am not convinced they are as close as RJ's recent letter is implying. If my assumption proves to be correct, then...
  7. It's July 1, who get's a delivery this month?

You're right, just like most of the people who complain about service or food in a restaurant have never been a manager or chef. I do not think one has to work in a particular industry to be able to have a valid critique. I assume what you are really saying is those non-industry folks would...
  8. It's July 1, who get's a delivery this month?

Fair question. I cannot put a specific number (i.e. 1000 cars a week) because that's not how I was thinking when I wrote my post. I was coming from the angle of enough vehicles to meet the expectations on deliveries of LEs. My belief, based on what I've seen, is Rivian is going to slowly...
  9. It's July 1, who get's a delivery this month?

I know this redundant on my part, but... practically speaking there is nothing I've seen online, in the media or any information releases by Rivian that gives me any confidence they are even remotely ready. I could be wrong but I'm betting they are at least 6 months away from any meaningful...
  10. Rivian Guide Contacted Finally! (For Real) ?

I think there is a valid criticism to be had about a lack of communication from Rivian. For some of us it has instilled a lack of confidence in what the company says. Even if there is validity about the company being new, the pandemic, shortages, etc. These are the struggles of any company that...
  11. Rivian Guide Contacted Finally! (For Real) ?

Correct. Between the link I am still trying to find and the job postings I believe there will be a center there.
  12. Rivian Guide Contacted Finally! (For Real) ?

If I remember correctly someone on the forum posted a link to a list of planned service centers. I'll see if I can locate it. Otherwise the only other thing I can remember off the top of my head is this anecdotal evidence: https://boards.greenhouse.io/rivian/jobs/4463895003
  13. Rivian Guide Contacted Finally! (For Real) ?

Depending on where you may be located in the SE and what you configured, I do not believe Spring of 2022 is realistic, even for a early reserved LE RT1. I'd make a friendly wager that it will be closer to Spring 2023. We live in central South Carolina. I have seen only two planned Rivian...
  14. What will we learn 6/7 - 6/13?

I'm guessing that when a person reserved will only hold any importance if the reservation holder is close to a soon-to-open Rivian service center. Perhaps the proper perspective for early reservation holders is to assume that when they reserved does not give any other advantage as to when they...
  15. South Carolina, anyone?

Columbia area here. I think we will all be waiting for a good while because the only two planned service centers I have seen mentioned near our state is in Raleigh and Atlanta. I'm pretty sure we have to be close enough for Rivian to send out their version of "ranger service". I reserved a LE...
  16. New updates! July deliveries, August test drives, off road package now optional on Launch Edition, gear added to configurator

As a very early reservation holder what I want to know is when will I get my vehicle? Do I have to wait 6 months more to find out I have to wait another 6 - 12 months? I live in a southern rural state on the east coast, does that mean I should expect my car in (early? late?) 2022 instead of...
  17. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

Being a casual cynic, I think they are a few months out. They'll release token amounts over the next 4-6 months but not anywhere near enough to satisfy demand. ....or not.... Maybe they really are playing it that stealth. Some of us here are getting concerned because of the lack of...
  18. Anybody heard from a guide yet?

I agree. Most likely THE biggest determining factor for getting an early Rivian will be proximity to a Rivian service center. You'll probably have to be within 200 miles (a guess) of one. At this point I'm expecting to be way down the list solely based on my location, even though I reserved the...
