In case of a zombie apocalypse, would you escape the city with an R1S or Audi A6 Quattro

Solar powered grids will last years without human intervention compared to ICE fueling stations without a refinery refilling them. The other question is if you can get the stations to activate.

Escape the city? LOL. I'll be fortressing. All roads in and out of the city will be clogged by everyone with same flawed GTFO notion. And they will be stranded in their cars with limited resources. I'd stay clear of the roads until long after the initial hysteria.

And just where should you go when escaping the cities?? Farmers are also more likely to fortress at home so the best option may be hiring on to help at the farm and looting fuel and fertilizer. You would be less likely to go hungry. Not sure if ICE or EV is a better farm vehicle. So for me, https://www.larrysproduce.com/

And for sure, get medications and supplies from a pharmacy. Also flu vaccines, etc can boost your immune system to non flu viruses, so I’d also boost myself in case it protected you from the zombie virus. Also, I’d continue nasal rinses for allergies. Nasal rinses were shown to lower the risk of COVID infection. And I’d get N95 masks, and if possible, a medical PAPR hood.

Y'all are thinking about this the wrong way.

Instead of asking which vehicle is better for escape ask: which is better for plowing through crowds of zombies? Which vehicle would be easier to modify with a zombie annihilating turret? Which vehicle could potentially power a laser for maximum zombie burning capability?

R1S wins, hands down. Next!

It's a trick question. Why would you leave your home when that's where all your supplies, defenses, and resources are?

Is it possible to tow charge a Rivian vehicle? We saw that in the long way up road trip but it is possible to do with this production models?

A more efficient EV would be better choice than power hungry Rivian but I always felt, it is better to face apocalypse with some solar panels and an EV. I have no idea how to fix an oil refinery and jump start one once it was shut down.

Pretty sure it's possible but Rivian does not want you to tow charge it. Of course under apocalypse conditions why not. Just find a new vehicle if it breaks.

Once worldwide modern civilization collapses, there is no restarting refineries until the entire support network is reestablished. Gasoline goes bad in a year or two. Although I understand diesel can last much, much longer. So really the answer is find a diesel vehicle

I hate to tell you this, but neither will let you “escape the city”

On a good day it’ll take you what? 4-5 hours to escape the city and hit somewhere “rural”. In an apocalyptic scenario you would be fighting others to get through the choke points to exit LI to get into Manhattan, only to fight choke points to to head north through a populous NJ/CT area, head West through a populous NJ area, or head south into another populous island.

In an apocalyptic scenario, your A6 and R1S are going to be just as effective as taking the LIRR to NY Penn, then taking an Amtrak out to…VA? Just accept your fate or do your best to steal and learn to fly a helicopter. Thats unfortunately your best bet based on where you live.
On a good day, it takes 2 hours to be in a rural area. Amtrak on LI is iffy even on a good day! In case of a mass escape situation, I cannot imagine how it would work and if it would even run.
But I get your point.

There would be no one to operate the trains, switches, etc.. we'd also have no power because those folks would be gone too. No gas (street gas), no water, no electricity, in a nutshell: screwed/blued and tattooed!
