Yeah, I don't disagree that I I'm not a fan of April Fool's Day anymore - most of the 'fools' that companies and people come up with are either really dumb ideas that are barely jokes, or are things that are straight up lies that get people's hopes up when they find the post/article post-April Fool's day. Remember a few years ago when Volkswagen said a few years ago on April Fool's that they were changing the name to Voltswagen - then after that day, said it wasn't actually a joke and they were still gonna do it? And yet...

Anyhoo, saying "I hate to be...." may have been the wrong turn of phrase. I need to be better about choosing my words, I guess.

"Self-loathing" hits a pretty dark part of my life, which happened quite early in my life (and once again after college). I know you made the comment without knowing that, but maybe in the future consider that the person you are talking about might have issues that cause sentences like that to have real consequences.

Oh my. It is impossible to know for the thousands of people on the forums any particular issues people have. If people self censor, what was a perfectly reasonable thing to say, they you get anodyne and boring commentary and no exchange of views outside very safe language.
It could be said that those who are triggered should maybe avoid forums - that’s an equally valid approach to the one you suggest. Take care.

Maybe its a mix of both? Be a little bit more mindful of the language we use, while also avoiding situations where one might put their foot in their mouth?

I hate to be a party pooper, but can we not do April Fools stuff here? It's gonna just result in confusion for peeps that just search for stuff on days that aren't April Fools... especially since this is not coming from Rivian (have they ever done an April Fool's-related thing?).

I was thoroughly confused by this until I clicked the link that sent me to another article not related to the R3. The R2 isn’t even out yet and the R3/R3X is going to be made at the Georgia plant, not in Illinois.
