I have a 2026 Rivian R1T I'm picking up this week - peeked in the window and noticed they appear to have changed the wireless phone charger. Anyone no any more info? I usually by the TWraps charger but don't think it will fit in this new setup.

Picture attached. If it somehow is magsafe and has magnetized grip, great! But if not, kind of annoyed because I love the TWraps version.

If it’s done to Qi2 standard, and it probably is, no reason to doubt it would hold—unless you have a thick phone case or hit a bump hard.
It mat be in terms of the two magnets holkding the phone down but Jose comments (unofficially) that the charging speed appears to be Qi1. As long as we keep putting phone chargers right there on the center arm rest where the sun will beat down on them, unless there's some sort of thermo plate or fans, I suspect overheating is a real problem with Qi2 (as it is with the lesser-taxing) Qi1.

If you leave the phone in the car while parked and without HVAC running, which I never do. With AC running the center vent isn't far, even with sun casting light on the phone(s), I don't see a problem; even if not at max possible charge rate, better than none at all. I have s00nish's solution with two older Magsafe pucks. It works great, only that appearance is not totally on par with OEM if you really want to scrutinize.

I just picked up my 2026 R1T a month ago and it still had the old one. Going to ask service center If any options to swap it out.

Don't even bother asking Rivian SC. R2 production and deliveries haven't started. There are no factory alternatives at the moment and none announced. Wait and see, or get yourself a the aftermarket one from soonishev.com (plus two charging pucks).

Asking does no harm but put it on their radar. I have a very good relationship with my service center since I live 5 minutes away.

Took delivery today. New phone charger is finally what it should have been from day one. Magnets hold phone great. I also like they lower the pad where the cameras are so there aren't any issues with sitting flush. I can't comment on charge rate - haven't had it long enough to see if it is slow - but it didn't get hot yet. No longer need to buy the TWraps charger (which I loved previously). I hope I can eventually retrofit this on my other 2026's in my garage!

I had the StowNCharge on my Launch Edition and just installed the SoonishEV Topocharge in my new 2026 Quad - Highly recommend both...work great and install was pretty easy - Rivian took my trade in with the StowNCharge without question.

Still way too slow, seems crazy they can’t put a 15w unit in. It’s 2026 and R2’s are coming out lol.
