Will you convert your R1 reservation into an order or are you reconsidering it?

Do you still plan to convert your R2 reservation into an order?

Voted "Maybe". My current R1T is doing great and I have no plans to replace it, especially with an (arguably) inferior vehicle. And also since I won't be able to get my Forest Edge interior on anything else. Maybe if I get tired of this color by then? 😆 But more likely, will evaluate our needs at the time. Wife's car is 10 years old but has less than 50k miles, since she's still full-time WFH. I may just hold the reservation for a while.

Part of me is even considering getting it, drive around for a few weeks, then sell to one of my friends who really wants a Rivian but can't afford them at current prices. Guess we'll see when they're available.

You Guys are TOO Funny... As someone who owned a FISKER OCEAN as my first EV it's all about supporting a startup company until something better comes alone. I can't wait for the R2 to become available. My plans is to least the RIVIAN R2 and if somethings goes wrong I will just upgrade to a better one 2-3 years later. I do have two backup cars if needed. I say support RIVIAN and enjoy the ride/experiance in support an American EV Company. Remember TESLA had a 10 Plus year start over Rivian. I would NEVER not EVER buy a TESLA... They are TOO Cheap and Basic. NOTE: I do love TESLA Charging Network, but as you can see TESLA is lousing Market share big time. Also, there is nothing FRESH about the Cheaper Tesla Model Y. But to each their own. Good luck in what ever you guys decide and I will see you on the highway in my Rivian R2... Beep Beep.

Great example on Fisker. I took a gamble on Tesla in 2013, it paid off. They succeeded and with minimal maintance, the car worked well enought to get me through to an R1. You did the same, took the same gamble. And while the company didn't succeed, I hope the car will get you to R2.

Cast me down as a maybe.

I originally got my gen2 R1S to maybe speed up the process of getting an R2. Plus, being my first EV, I get to understand the dna of Rivian. I can’t imagine an R2 will be a world different.

but, having the R1S made me really love the bigger vehicle. I’m always hauling dogs or band equipment. And when my gf is with me, I don’t feel cramped like my last car (subi outback).

I need to sit in an R2 before I could make any decision. Right now tho, I’m 60/40 on eventually trading in for a new R1S or for the R2.
When we can test drive that will be the time to decide.

I think it will be difficult for me to scale down from R1S to R2 while that was my original plan.
