I’ve had good results with lane centering using CD210, don’t currently have the 8 degree mount installed (I have one but never got around to installing it). I’ve played around with a dozen or so models, but I’ve settled on this one for the last couple months.
I‘ve tried most of the models, including CD210. However, based on other‘s positive experience, I decided to give CD210 one more shot. Honestly, it was unacceptable. On those sweeping left hand turns, it crossed right over the double yellow lane divider lines. On rural, unmarked, sketchy roads, it routinely ran onto the shoulder when negotiating right hand bends. So, I’m going back to North Nevada V2, the only model that works okay on my ‘23 R1T .

Yeah, I'm not a fan of CD210 either.

Try OPM10V3, it's been good for me on more rural roads. Turns are shite, but otherwise it's good.

I have tried OPM10V3 and I agree it is one of the better ones, that I have tried. I actually saved it on my Favorites list. Still not as good as North Nevada, however. I think North Nevada is better on turns and hard to beat on those rural roads.

Hey y’all, where is the best place to share some issues I faced today driving with Comma 4 + Extreme Dev Harness + Lukas Fork & DTRv6.

- I noticed that the live feed jumps sometimes on my Comma 4.
- After a timeout/cooldown due to an inattentive message (wasn’t sleeping, trying to search for a Taco Bell in the maps 😅), the driver assist system wouldn’t engage. Even after cooldown timer, it just kept saying that the driver assistance system was not available. I parked the car and performed a reset and I still had the same issue but eventually it engaged again but said “driver system fault” first and then seemed to work again.
- The speed limit would be 5 over or 1 over what I set it to on the Rivian.

I will try to check all the cables again and fuse tap to see if I did something wrong.

FWIW I had a similar error message recently saying ACC wasn't available on the dash (no cool down timer) and then eventually LKAS error on the comma 4. When I tried engaging the first time, the comma beeped angrily (it was quick so I didn't catch the error message) and the dash stated ACC error, and each subsequent try of engagement, the vehicle dash continued to show ACC error. It continued after a hard reset. But it seems to have resolved after a soft reset, no issues since, so I'm not sure what to attribute it to. I had installed the new extreme harness weeks prior.
My speed also regularly exceeds the setpoint, usually 2-3 mph.

(Off topic, this is my big gripe with one pedal driving, it's a pain in the ass with a longer drive and no available cruise control, the leg fatigue was real.)

I got an 8-degree wedge but I’m getting conflicting information on how to install it.

1. Some people are saying the Comma 4 mount already has the 8-degree built-in. I have a Janka mount so not sure if that changes whether or not an 8-degree is built in. Does the comma 4 have 8-degree built-in and does the Janka mount change that?

2. One thread mentioned the thick part of the wedge should be at the top, thereby making the camera point up more. Other post said the thick part of the wedge should be at the bottom, which makes the camera point down more. I think maybe there’s some confusion on what “top” and “bottom”. “Top” to me is closer to the mirror housing and “bottom” is closer to the dashboard.

Anyone have answers to these two questions?

1. The stock Comma 4 mount does NOT have 8-degree built in.

2.The wedge should be oriented so that it points the camera more upwards, so the thick part facing the rear of the vehicle.

Thank you so much for the clarification! It’s wild how a lot of people say the opposite. Google Gemini said this, “Orient the Wedge: Position the wedge so the thicker end faces down toward the dashboard and the thinner end faces up toward the headliner. This tilts the comma unit down, angling the camera lens into a level viewing position.”

LOL, no worries! Yeah, that answer is totally the opposite of what you want to do!

You're trying to raise the view of the camera up so you don't get as much hood in the image. For example, below (left = without wedge, right = with wedge):

If I plan on getting the Extreme Dev Kit, can I omit a harness from Comma when ordering the Comma 4?

Also, if I order a harness shipped to a US address, can I assume it will ship from one of the US hubs? Asking because checkout is showing euros. Are they in stock ready to ship?

Yes. The extreme dev kit includes its own harness. I just installed mg extreme dev kit, which involved completely removing the comma harness I’d been using previously.

I believe everything ships from the US, and you should be fine.

Yup, skip the harness from Comma and save $50, and then use my referral code below and get an extra $50 off of your order on top of that!!
