The Comma4 mounting point below the mirror housing partially blocks my view during right hand turns. Since sunnylink provides option for camera offset, I'm wondering if it would be possible to move the comma4 mounting point to the left side of the rearview mirror plastic housing, and also further up the windshield to get better vantage point and less hood view. Has anyone tried this?

There is a guy on YouTube who plays around with lots of different mounting positions for the Comma and a lot of them work, so I would say just try it and see how it performs. I think it'll probably be fine.

Thanks I'll give that a try when I get some time.

On another note, I bought a USB-C right angle adaptor (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V1WHDKL) to make it easier to install the C4 because I had mounted it a little too close to the rear view housing, but t doesn't work. The Comma complains about CAN issues. Any recommendations if there a particular cable/adaptor that I need to use?

Thx
Tony

We'll need a route with uploaded logs to properly diagnose any issues you're having.

Hmm, I'm not sure how I can get a route log when the comma doesn't engage. When I double tap the stalk, nothing happens, car just beeps and cancels right away. Sometimes I even get "unknown variant" message. I can give it another try.

It should still create a log even if the Comma doesn't engage.

OH, and don't double tap the stalk. All you need is a single tap.

The driver+ double tap is disabled which probably explains the issue you're having.

Thanks for this. I’m just starting to explore Comma for my 2024 R1S, but was trying to find clear photos of the mounting position from the drivers perspective. Based on videos I’ve seen a Comma 4 seems slightly obtrusive (although I haven’t read any complaints about it).

If there is an option to install it higher on the windshield I’d be ready to go all in.

You can put it higher with a different cable, or a right angle adapter, and/or modifying the box. But I think the C4 has zero visibility penalty, while I did not like the C3's size at all.

Also, you can't have too many screens. But the C4 is really not in the way.

I just took the photo to troll a friend who hates car screens, not for actual usage. The timing just worked out to also use it to show the C4.
