It really depends on efficiency goals. Efficiency seems like something they have been talking about since day 1. Also time will tell if the claim of 51kwh for standard pack is legit.

It will if they obligate other options. Pretty typical for legacy auto, look at what they did on the Lightning.

Illustration style of video also bear uncanny resemblance to Rivian’s early promotional content.

Through my ad biz eye, Ford is blatantly targeting folks who’d love to own a R1T but can’t afford one.

Is there an actual, released by Ford rendering? The thumbnail on the State of Charge video looks like a bunch of crap smooshed together by either funky photoshop or "AI". Granted, the image there could be a rendering, since Ford uses some....... funky design elements now and again.

If that's the case, I'm disappointed in Tom @ State of Charge. He seemed to be one that wouldn't stoop to that level, but may have done so....

Yah, unfortunately it’s now standard practice. There should at least be regulation requirements for a simple “AI generated” disclaimer.

This may be a direct threat to Slate but it is a threat to Rivian R1T as well. This Ford truck will likely be in the same size category, and even if they end up charging $60K for a bigger battery/longer range version this is a direct threat to Rivian. On the plus side, this may push Rivian to update the R1T quicker with R2-like tech to bring the cost down. I doubt they would call it an R1T Gen 3 because that would instantly make higher cost used R1Ts unsellable. More likely the R2T with about the same capacity. Now reading my own words, I suddenly feel like the R1T is at a dead end.

Doesn’t matter that it’s LPF. What matters is what they’ve done to make it work even in the cold.
